Amsterdam is breathtaking from the canals that's why my cousin and I rented a canal boat so we could have our own private tour. We rented the canal boat from canalmotorboats.com conveniently located west of Amsterdam Central Station and rents for 40 euros per hour but make sure to reserve a few days ahead.
Amsterdam has 2 major nightlife districts called Rembrandtplein and Leidseplein these squares are loaded with bars and night clubs. Depending on where you start, I recommend you get a delicious negroni from NJOY cocktail bar but beware, they have a strict door policy so do not show up too trashed or under dressed.
At Rembrantplein you'll find many great spots like Escape night club, Jantjesverjaardag (a popular student bar), techno club Air Amsterdam, and my favorite Club NYX for their bizarre toilet bar on the top floor where you literally can take a piss behind the DJ in a urinal on the dance floor.
If you're not into night clubs than Amsterdam has a magnitude of bars and cafes, it is what Amsterdam is best known for. Dig deep into local Dutch cafe culture in the Jordaan district at cozy places Cafe Thijsen, Gevulde Gaper, Staalmeesters and De Zotte.
For party bars and dive bars check out No. 129, Cafe Kooper, Kopstootbar and end your night either at the Water Hole for rock music and live bands or club hard at the massive Paradiso dance floor or consider Chicago Social club for a more laid back hipster kind of vibe.
In conclusion, the Amsterdam nightlife is one of world's best. The fact that bars and clubs are open late, no last call, great selection of music & venues plus a chill laid back local crowd that makes Amsterdam the absolute party capital of Europe, without a doubt. Ibiza eat your heart out! Also, make sure to watch my Amsterdam travel guide for day time activities.

Transcript:
Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. It’s about a four and a half hours’ journey by Eurostar or it’s just an hour’s flight from London.
It’s one of the most popular destinations in Europe. Millions of people are drawn in by the laid-back culture, hundreds of museums and galleries and, of course, the famous Red Light District, home to legalised prostitution and soft drugs.
Amsterdam is served by Amsterdam Schiphol, the world’s fifth busiest airport. It’s not far from the city and there are trains, buses or taxis to take you the short journey to the centre. Trains take about 20 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal Station and you can get tickets on Schiphol Plaza outside Arrivals. There are ten train stations in Amsterdam, so make sure you get to the one that’s nearest your hotel. We found the train to be quick, efficient and cheap. It’s definitely our recommended way to get in to the city.
You can take the 197 bus from bus stop B9 outside the airport. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the city centre. The bus was crowded and we had to stand the whole way, so we’d only recommend it if you’re staying in the south.
You can book a taxi on Schiphol.nl. However, taxis are expensive and will cost you around €50.
Amsterdam’s fairly compact, with most sites fairly easy walking distance of each other. You can get from Centraal Station to Van Gogh Museum in the south, for example, in around 40 minutes by foot. However, there are lots of ways to get around the city quickly if you prefer.
The tram is usually your best option. The stops are frequent and tickets are cheap. There are maps at every stop but we recommend downloading GVB’s app to help plan your route. When it comes to tickets, we recommend getting an iamsterdam card. It gives you unlimited use of public transport, as well as free entry to many of the city’s hundreds of attractions and museums.
Amsterdam is the most bike-friendly capital city in the world and it shows. All roads have dedicated cycle paths and riding round the city was surprisingly easy, even in the rain! The locals can be quite impatient with tourists, so we recommend waiting until you’ve been in Amsterdam for a day or two, just so you can get a feel for how the system works. Remember to treat the cycle lanes as you would a normal road back home. Obey the traffic lights and stop for pedestrians at zebra crossings. You’ll see lots of locals ignoring the rules but you’ll be okay if you stick to them.
De Pijp has the widest variety of restaurants and bars. We’d suggest checking out the Albert Cuypmarkt for some Dutch stroopwafels. The Marie Heinekenplein is also here, home to lots of bars and the Heineken brewery. Foodies, De Pijp is for you.
De Wallen is home to Amsterdam’s Red Light District, made famous by its coffee shops and legalised prostitution. There are many companies offering tours of the area that’ll show you its many secrets. We recommend AmsterdamRedLightDistrictTour.com. They provided us with a fun and informative tour and were happy to answer all of our many questions.
Museumplein in the south is home to the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum.
The currency in Holland is the Euro and prices are generally lower than you’ll find in London. Expect to pay about the same in Euros as you would in Pounds but remember that beer is a little bit more expensive.
Lots of places in Amsterdam have free wifi, including popular tourist attractions like here, in the Van Gogh Museum. WifiAmsterdam.nl has a list of free wifi spots across Amsterdam.
See why you should avoid street dealers in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a fun, free-spirited, laid-back city. But, like any other city, it's important to be street smart. This video will show you just why you need to avoid drug dealers in the street when you're in Amsterdam. For more info, including how to report crimes, see iamsterdam.com/besmartbesafe.

Close to Amsterdam Centraal station, Centrum is a busy neighborhood brimming with lively bars and laid-back restaurants. Crowds of international visitors hang out on Dam Square to watch street artists perform near the 17th-century Royal Palace Amsterdam and the Gothic Nieuwe Kerk. Chain stores line the pedestrianized shopping streets of Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal and Kalverstraat.

Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities in the world, and day's like this will show you why. With laid back vibes and beautiful sunshine, our final day in the city on our romantic getaway was finished off in style!
The night before we bumped into a few friends from London, a few beers later and a walk through the red light district in the early hours of the morning, we got back to our air BnB and turned in for the night.
Waking up with a bit of a hangover, our last day in Amsterdam was planned to be as chilled as possible whilst making the most of the incredible weather! So we decided to walk around the city, go to the local pancake spot for breakfast (Pancakes Amsterdam) on 9 straat - I thoroughly recommend it!
We then took a 70 minute boat tour around the canals of Amsterdam whilst taking advantage of unlimited drinks for only €15!
We finished off the day strolling through Vondelpark, which for me was the best (and worst) part of the day, you'll find out why in the video! There is something about being in a green space in such a cool city like this, there were so many people just hanging out, having a good time with family friends...it kinda felt like home in a weird way if that makes any sense. Sunday evening at dusk, and still thousands of people having a good time - not worrying about work or any of lifes troubles, these kind of moments of solace are why I love travelling so much!
Enjoy the video, if you've been to Amsterdam before, let me know how it was for you in the comments!

In Amsterdam with Seth Troxler
A city he describes as both the capital of dance music culture and his second home, where better to roll with the inimitable Seth Troxler than through Amsterdam?
We joined Seth during his visit to The Dam for ADE 2015, a canal-peppered stroll including crate digging at Rush Hour Records, cooking for the homeless with 10,000 hours, launching his DJ Kicks mix album at Closure with a epic eight-hour set and playing to thousands with his Circoloco family at Loveland.
Throughout the trip he speaks candidly (as only Seth can) about a dance music culture he hopes to reinvigorate with more diverse, socially responsible ideas. As a member of the ‘Power to the Artist’ panel at ADE this year, he pushed the issue of an artist’s responsibility to do more than just self promote.
Seth’s ADE experience is like no other’s; join him for the ride.
A special thank you to 10,000 Hours and Levien Priem for the 10,000 Hours ADE video footage.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands
A city rich in history and culture. Visit all year round and experience each season’s unique highlights and special atmosphere.
Amsterdam will enchant you as much with its beautiful historic cityscape, as with its vibrant and laid-back atmosphere.
The city has earned its reputation as the Venice of the North due to its network of semi-circular canals spanned by hundreds of bridges. In fact it has more canals and bridges than Venice. E
njoy the fascinating museums and café culture during the day, and join the crowds in the many bars and clubs at night. You’ll always feel welcome in this multicultural capital, where anything goes.

Amsterdam trip (7-10 May, 2016)
#cyheidiexchange2016
Amsterdam has a remarkably laid- back atmosphere. I truly enjoy the my trip in Amsterdam! It has all the advantages of a big city: rich culture, lively Amsterdam nightlife, international restaurants, good transport - but is quiet, and largely thanks to its extensive canals, has a little road traffic.
From Amsterdam canals to world-famous Amsterdam museums and historical Amsterdam sights, it is one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe. Canal cruises are a popular way to see the city from the perspective of its canals.
Amsterdam, I will be back:D IAMSTERDAM!

Ben Cohen Street Food Amsterdam
Amsterdam In Your Pocket - Canals (Grachten)
Although Amsterdam has no shortage of picturesque canals, this beautiful waterway is one of the city's prettiest and in our opinion outshines other scenic stretches such as the Golden Bend. The Brewers' Canal began its existence in the 17th century but earned its name hundreds of years later when many beer brewers chose to set up shop on the canal. Unlike the busy canals in the centre, the atmosphere here is laid back and relaxed. Most of the tiny little houses along the way have brightly painted shutters and the canal is covered in small bridges.
The music is by a Bulgarian trio busking on Prinsengracht.

Laidback Luke present Super You&Me at AIR, Amsterdam, March 3rd
On Saturday the 3rd of March 2012 the time has come for Laidback Luke's Super You&Me to return to the Netherlands. This time Luke invited a sharp and varied selection of friends; joining him is Congorock, Sandro Silva and La Fuente.
Recently Luke has been widely honored ...as 'The Hardest Working Man in the Dutch Showbusiness.' With 149 performances Luke is on top of the list of artists with the most 'gigs' abroad. Since he is constantly travelling abroad was partly due to the real Super You&Me winning streaks with multiple editions in Ibiza, Miami, New York and Los Angeles. Now, a few weeks before the infamous Miami Music Week, Luke is approaching Amsterdam with his companions. That the choice fell on AIR is not surprising! As Super You&Me, AIR is fresh and musically innovative and both guarantee quality.
Super You&Me is known for its progressive line ups -- Superheroes stood here before such as Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Wolfgang Gartner, Fakeblood, Martin Solveig and DJ Mehdi. The next generation of superheroes is preparing their attack for this years edition; alongside Laidback Luke Congorock, Sandro Silva and La Fuente will ensure that the Amsterdam is a must-see event.
Congorock -- a musical trendsetter from Italy, as one of the first who could bring fidget house to a larger audience. He gained a lot of respect in the underground scene with releases on Fool's Gold but for now it does well on the commercial based Ultra Records. His reputation mainly was established due to his performances with unique energetic 130 bpm ghetto, fidget and electro house.
Sandro Silva -- His hit Epic (with Quintino) reached became a NR1 hit record in The Netherlands and was even awarded with a Golden Plaque. Get Lower (with Bizzey) showed that this young contender is not afraid of experimenting with dance. Sandro just returned from a tour in Australia, and just before his tour in the U.S., the return to Amsterdam will show why this guy has made a remarkable impact on the dance scene in such a short time.
La Fuente -- the friendly-looking blonde afro haired DJ from Amsterdam is known for his huge catchy 'high energy' way of turning. He will make sure that Super You&Me will keep you dancing throughout the night.
This Super You&Me is THE perfect opportunity to show who your favorite superhero is -- nothing is too crazy and (almost) anything goes!
