Today on, Lives Unscripted, we head to Lake Louise. There we enjoy a nice lunch at the Lake Agnes Tea House. This is our last stop in the Banff National Park before heading west to British Columbia.

BEAUTIFUL LAKE LOUISE & LAKE AGNES HIKE
Lake Louise is conveniently situated 45 mins from Banff, with lots of activities to choose from including kayaking, horse riding, gondola rides, a nearby ski resort etc.
As we still proud budget travellers, we decided to spend our day marvelling at the sights for free and taking on the 6.8km round trip hike to Lake Agnes Lake.
If anyone is interested, it would cost around £237 per night to stay at the Fairmont Hotel. Maybe when we are rich and famous, we will return...

Hike to Lake Agnes, Little Beehive at Lake Louise, Banff National Park - April 2019
Warning: Not safe to hike at this time of the year. Check avalanche warning and weather report before hiking this trail.
Day Hiking trip at Lake Louise, Banff national park on Easter long-weekend
This time, I was with Sarfaraz, Ramiz, Akber and Zahir.
Started the hike around 10:45am and reached to a little beehive at around 2:00pm.. took about 3 hours to hike up there.
From Lake Louise, First stop is Mirror Lake, From there about 700-800 meters you will reach to lake Agnes. There is a tea house at Lake Agnes. The tea house was closed for the season.
All the three lakes were still frozen, but the landscape was amazing and it's worth the experience. you can see the frozen Lake Louise, Fair month hotel, highway one and a beautiful landscape of rocky mountains.
We rest a little bit up there and start hiking down. It took about 1:45 min to hike down from the little beehive.
Way back to Calgary, we stop in Banff town to eat.
Overall had an amazing trip with friends.

A few things to keep in mind:
-All national parks offer FREE admission on Canada Day! This means the parks will be crowded, but we found that the crowds didn't detract from our experience. The Lake Louise shoreline was especially busy as was Lake Agnes Teahouse, but the crowds thin significantly once you're on the hiking trail and there was almost no one at the Little Beehive viewpoint. The hardest part was parking!
-If you don't get to Lake Louise by 6:30 am at the latest on Canada Day, I wouldn't count on parking at the lake itself. We arrived at Lake Louise just before 7:00 only to find that the parking lot is full, so we had to turn around and backtrack to the overflow parking lot on Highway 1.
-You have to take a shuttle bus from the overflow parking lot to Lake Louise. These shuttle buses are NOT free and do NOT accept cash. Children under 6 ride shuttle for free. Youth under the age of 18 and seniors over 64 must pay $2; everyone else pays $4. It takes approximately 15-20 minutes to get to Lake Louise from the overflow lot via the shuttle. We were in the shuttle bus line by 8:45 and were in the line for over an hour. Our mistakes were: 1) driving to Lake Louise, which ate up almost an hour (lots of traffic), and 2) taking a long time to get ready at the car before getting in line (one of the adults should have gone to stand in line as soon as we parked while the other adult got the kids dressed).
-Agnes Teahouse serves food and drinks but they only accept cash.
-If you make it to the teahouse, then we HIGHLY recommend that you continue to Little Beehive. The additional hike is just 1.0 km albeit with a steeper incline than the preceding hike, but it's 100% worth it! This is where you'll get the best view of Lake Louise!
-We ran into a couple that did both Little Beehive and Big Beehive. They said the views are almost the same, so just do Little Beehive!

-We ran into a couple that hiked both Little Beehive and Big Beehive on the same day. They recommended that we hike Little Beehive because they found the views to be almost identical. Save yourself some sweat and just do Little Beehive. ;)

Lake Agnes to Plain of Six Glaciers Hiking Loop (Lake Louise, ALberta, Canada)
A look at a huge hike for us beginners. We started in the village of Lake Louise, went up the Lake Agnes trail at about 7am. The first stop was Little Beehive for spectacular views ! Even got a Cloud Carpet view over the valley!
From Little Beehive we went down to Lake Agnes and saw the Tea House. Then it was across the Highline Trail to the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House. There we got to rest our legs before the last ascent to the view point over Victoria Glacier. Finally heading down along the Plain of Six Glaciers trail back down to Lake Louise to finish up this hike.
The Route we took was 25kms with total elevation gain of 850m. It took us 9 hours, that is with stop for lunch and tons of photo taking!! We Went in mid-September and the weather was perfect for hiking!
Lake Agnes Hike in Banff National Park | Journey Alberta
In this video I do the Lake Agnes Hike in Banff National Park. It's a moderate hike that begins at the Chateau Lake Louise and climbs up to the Lake Agnes Teahouse. On the way my friend Jesse and I also pass Mirror Lake, a alpine lake that is a good place to stop for a break. You can add doing other hikes to this trek as well, such as the Big Beehive or the Little Beehive. Overall it's an good hike with views of Lake Louise, Mirror Lake, and Lake Agnes. One of the downsides is that it's a very popular trail, so you'll see a lot of people doing this hike.

''The Lake Agnes Tea House was built by the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1901 as a refuge for hikers. Climb steadily on a forested trail, past Mirror Lake and the waterfall that cascades out of Lake Agnes, before arriving at the idyllic alpine waters of Lake Agnes and enjoying speciality teas and delicious homemade baking.
The family-run Tea House has no electricity or running water. Some supplies (such as flour and sugar for the baking) are flown in by helicopter at the start of the season, but all fresh food is packed up the trail by the staff.
The hike to the Tea House starts on the shores of Lake Louise near the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise hotel and climbs uphill on a wide switch-backed path for 3.6 km (2.2 mi.). 1. Where do you live?: I am based in Edmonton, Alberta & was born & raised in Peterborough, Ontario ... Canada ;)

5. What camera do you use?: For nicer shots and a lot of my vlogs I film with the Canon 70D. When I am on the road & need a bit more waterproof/ drop proof abilities I film with both GoPro & the Olympus Stylus Tough TG-3

7. How long does it take to edit 1 video?: It is different from one video to another but on average I spend around 2 hours editing each video from start to finish.
8. What are your favorite countries to visit?: I have many favorites but right now Thailand, Nicaragua & Indonesia are at the top of my list of fav.'s
9. What countries are on your bucket list?: New Zealand & India are two that I can't wait to visit one day.
10. What youtubers do you watch?: I watch a ton of different vloggers but Fun For Louis & Raya are 2 of my favorites along with Ben Brown and Craig & Aimee.

In this Vlog I head over to Banff to film some B-roll shots for an upcoming project. I did the bow falls loop, checked out the village and show you the footage from a recent hike in the Lake Louise area to see Mirror Lake and Agnes Lake. I truly am loving the mountain life and cant wait to see what adventures are in store for me next!

Banff National Park - Lake Louise to Agnes Lake & Plain of the Six Glaciers

Lake Agnes is hidden in a hanging valley high above Lake Louise, in Banff National Park, AB, Canada. In the early 1900s, a tea house was built by the lake and the present version was built in 1981. It serves refreshments and light snacks from mid-June to early October and is one of the big attractions of this hike.
Lake Louise & EPIC HIKE to Lake Agnes Tea House
We spent 2 days in Lake Louise and 2 days in Banff downtown area. The hike to Lake Agnes Tea House (starts at 4:19) was epic due to the snowy and icy trails but the pay off were the views, the yummy tea and biscuits, and the challenge. We then stopped at Lake Moraine for a short while and then spent 2 more days at Banff doing some local trails and seeing the beautiful Bow Falls of course!

Lake Louise and Moraine Lake are some of the most beautiful lakes we saw while visiting Banff, Canada. When we went to Lake Louise, we hiked the Lake Agnes trail up to Lake Agnes Tea House and then continued hiking up to the Beehive. At Moraine Lake, I sat in a hammock and enjoyed a beautiful view of mountains and glacial lakes. Both adventures were amazing!
