Lake Alan Henry canoe fishing
Fishing Lake Alan Henry TX in mid February from an Old Town canoe. Water temps still very cold, ~45 F, so the fishing was pretty slow. I did catch a few small largemouth bass. The wind picked up in the afternoon so I had to paddle pretty hard back to the boat ramp. I was trolling an umbrella rig for the first time, I will have to that try again in a few weeks when the water temp is warmer. Recorded with GoPro Hero 3+ silver.

Dyess Air Force Missiles Cause Concern Near Lubbock
A new statement from Dyess Air Force base confirmed that the missiles EverythingLubbock.com showed on Tuesday are part of a training installation called the Post/Fluvanna Site.
Tuesday, officials told our reporter that the fenced off location near Highway 1269 was a training facility. The new statement on Wednesday revealed more specifics about what they call a Threat Emitter site.
US Air Force Tech Sergeant Joshua Jasper wrote that it is a small site similar to a training location near Snyder. They are used to replicate threat signals in a training environment that our aircrews may encounter in support of combat operations.
Basically, the location broadcasts signals to training aircraft overhead. The signals replicate threats like surface to air missiles. The missiles that can be seen off highway 1269 are actually mock ups made to provide a visual representation of the threat.
Once the threat emitter is active, Sgt. Jasper wrote, our aircraft will be able to hear an audible signal within the aircraft signaling the threat as well as see a representation of it on the ground.

The first PaveDrain installation in South Florida
This is the very first installation of PaveDrain in South Florida performed at the Ft. Lauderdale City Hall.
PaveDrain is a Permeable Articulating Concrete Block (P-ACB) pavement system, uniquely designed to mitigate stormwater flooding and to increase low impact development (LID). It is an excellent product for South Florida because it allows stormwater to infiltrate naturally back into the aquifer eliminating the need for underground systems and/or retention ponds.
The PaveDrain is one of the most environmentally friendly, cost-effective & easy to install products on the market. The arch creates an internal storage chamber that can be filled with stormwater runoff in extreme conditions. PaveDrain has been rated for AASHTO HS-20 and H-20 loading. It can be assembled into cabled mattresses for easy and efficient installation.
The PaveDrain system was tested according to ASTM C1701/C1701M-09 by an independent third party engineering firm. The test was conducted on a PaveDrain project that had not been maintained for 18 months and still infiltrated in excess of 4,000 inches/hour per one foot diameter.
Titan Block is the Sunshine State's exclusive distributor of PaveDrain. For this project, Titan Block donated the PaveDrain blocks and the aggregates used for the base. Burns and Sons Concrete performed the installation for free. Additional materials were donated by ACF Environmental and RB3 Solutions.
Benefits of PaveDrain:
- Reduces stormwater runoff
- Eliminates need for retention ponds and other costly stormwater management practices
- Replenishes water table and aquifers
- Allows for more efficient land development
- Minimizes flash flooding and standing water
- Prevents warm and polluted water from entering our streams
- Mitigates surface pollutants

This mixture of news casts, advertisements, and silent footage of Lubbock's Channel 13 KDUB-TV facilities provides insight into the operations and programming at a medium sized television station in the 1950s and 1960s. College Avenue; among the footage in this reel is the Lubbock National Bank building as well as the grand opening of the College Avenue studio. Also included are two KDUB newscasts: the first from 1957 hosted by Jimmy Isaacs, and a second newscast from 1962 hosted by Jim Key. The newscasts are punctuated by several advertisements by local sponsors, including: Rath Black Hawk Meats, Homer G. Maxey and Company, United Supermarkets, and Zales Jewelers. Also on the reel is a telethon for March of Dimes featuring an appearance and performance by Alvin Childress and Spencer Williams as Amos and Andy – in kilts.

West Texas Pre Spawn Bass Fishing
Location: Buffalo Springs Lake, Texas.
Conditions: Cold and cloudy with slow moving fog/mist. Air temperature in the 40s.
The Lubbock, Texas area is still experiencing some crazy temperature swings. The bass aren't quite ready to get on beds, but they are moving up shallow. I managed to catch some decent ones!
