Today I share with you the lake of Arareco, this lake support the native families of Raramuris, native mexican people.
We traveled to the beautiful town of Creel in Sierra Tarahumara in the state that I´m from, Chihuahua, the biggest mexican state. We travel by train to this amazing town in the mountains to see the Copper Canyon 4 times bigger and 2 times deeper than the Colorado Canyon.

El lago de Arareco queda a solo 5 minutos del centro de Creel en el Municipio de Bocoyna podemos encontrar el destino perfecto para practicar Turismo de Aventura, el hermoso Lago de Arareco. Hermosos paisajes rodeado de un vasto bosque y formaciones rocosas, puedes pasear tranquilamente en lancha y disfrutar de una deliciosa carne asada o acampar e ir a los diferentes puntos que quedan a pocos kilómetros de distancia.

We walked down the valley to see the Valla De Las Ranas - Valley of the Frogs and the Valla De Los Hongos. We also Stopped of at a small church - Mision De San Ignacio and walked up to the Lake Arareco - Lago De Arareco for a snake and a drink.

Northern Mexico & Copper Canyon
Our friend Lee York takes us on a excursion through NORTHERN MEXICO to visit COPPER CANYON.
We'll begin in Topolobampo and enjoy the beautiful bay. Then we'll take El Chepe, part of the Chihuahua-Pacific Railway, into the higher regions of Chijuajua.
Next we join in some local Independence Day festivities, and enjoy regional ceremonies and dances at Cerocahui.
Our central destination is Copper Canyon (Spanish: Barrancas del Cobre). This is actually a group of six separate rivers that create a vast region of dramatic canyons.
The area is inhabited by the indigenous Tarahumara people who now support themselves largely through tourism.
After a brief stop at Lake Arareco, we explore the modest cliff-side dwellings of the local people.

Topolobampo is a port on the Gulf of California in northwestern Sinaloa, Mexico. The port connects the northern Mexican states through the Chihuahua-Pacific Railroad.
The Chihuahua-Pacific Railway, also known as El Chepe, is a major rail line in northwest Mexico, traversing the Copper Canyon, a rugged series of canyons that have led some to call this the most scenic railroad trip on the continent. It is both an important transportation system for locals and a draw for tourists.
Cerocahui is a town in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, located in the Sierra Tarahumara it is internationally recognized for being one of the main places of festivities of Holy Week of the Tarahumara ethnic groups.
Copper Canyon (Spanish: Barrancas del Cobre) is a group of six distinct canyons in the Sierra Madre Occidental in the southwestern part of the state of Chihuahua in northwestern Mexico. The canyons were formed by six rivers that drain the western side of the Sierra Tarahumara (a part of the Sierra Madre Occidental). All six rivers merge into the Rio Fuerte and empty into the Gulf of California. The walls of the canyon are a copper/green color, which is where the name originates.
The Tarahumara or Rarámuris are an indigenous community in northern Mexico, in the part of the Sierra Madre Occidental that crosses territory of the state of Chihuahua and the southwest of the states of Durango and Sonora . The Rarámuri endónimo means the one of the light feet or runners on foot.
Lake Arareco is a lake high in the Sierra Madre Occidental range, within Chihuahua state in northwestern Mexico. The lake is U-shaped. It is surrounded by unusual rock formations, and a fragrant pine forest. It is located about 14 kilometres (8.7 mi)s south of Creel A few kilometres away a scenic canyon has the Cascada Cusárare waterfall, which drops 30 metres (98 ft).
