Bindoon - Western Australia
The gateway to wildflower country, Bindoon is surrounded by rolling hills and is pretty all year round but from August to September during wildflower season, it is breathtaking.
Today Bindoon is primarily a fruit growing district and visitors to the area will find many fruit growers selling their products along the road.
Situated in the Chittering Valley the best time to visit is in Spring (August-September) when the wildflowers bring a riot of colour to the already beautiful countryside.
There is no caravan park in town but an overnight stopping point is available at the Visitor Centre and camping on the oval is permitted from April to September. Fees apply.
There are a number of walk and drive trails in the shire. Walk trails include: Bindoon Tale Trail, Blackboy Ridge, Carty Reserve, Lake Needonga Trail, Stonehouse Trail, Spoonbill Lake, Wannamal Heritage Trail, Peace Be Still, Kyotmunga Trail and the Camino Salvado Pilgrim Trail.

Mike Boudry from Moon Wine on the Goulburn River, Nagambie
The wine needs to talk of where it comes from. The more you mess around with it, the further away from it's origins you take it. Talking with Mike Boudry from Moon Wine. Mike & Greta Moon have a small biodynamic vineyard, Goulburn Terrace, on the banks of the Goulburn River at Nagambie producing Cabernet, Shiraz, Marsanne and Chardonnay. The vines have been managed organically, using biodynamic practices, since 2005 have been fully certified 'biodynamic' since 2012. The vines are hand pruned to low yields, and hand harvested. Here's more from Mike on his wines, I like my wines to evolve in a story of flavours, textures and mouthfeel for as long as possible. Beautiful wines make for a beautiful story.

'Mudhole' on Cremorne Bridge, South Yarra 22/3/18
A quick video showing a 'mudhole' in the middle of Cremorne Bridge, between Richmond and South Yarra. Mudholes are a common phenomenon on railways in Victoria. A six car Comeng train passes over it, showing how the track sinks into the hole under the weight of the train. Normally you get a bit of a mud splatter as well, but at the time of filming it had been about six weeks since Melbourne got any serious rainfall.
Hollands Creek Demonstration Reach - a Reaching Beyond Demonstration Reaches project video
The Hollands Creek Demonstration Reach is nestled within the Tatong Valley in North East Victoria. The project supports the Regional River Health Strategy and Murray-Darling Basin Authority Native Fish Strategy, by working with local community groups and landholders to target a range of primary assets within the Hollands system. The demonstration reach focuses on protecting and expanding suitable habitat for Macquarie Perch populations, an endangered native fish. The program has seen a range of works implemented, including fencing, revegetation, pest plant control, habitat creation, monitoring and community activities.
Demonstration reaches are a key theme of the Native Fish Strategy, and reveal how restoration of our native fish communities and the rehabilitation of the health of our waterways can be achieved through the integration of multiple management actions, strong community involvement, and monitoring and evaluation

Trip to apollo bay holiday park can be planned as well keeping this camp site as base. Colac botanic gardens, the otway treetop walk were closeby as well. Otway beach, otway fly treetop adventure, otway fly walk are at within an hour drive.
On day-2 at the camp, we decided to make mutton curry (Goat Qorma / Karahi) and it turned out to be the yumiest treat one can imagine when at bush. It was best served with the mince and chickpeas (channay) rice.
