Wlodawa European Cooperation Day 2015 Poland-Belarus-Ukraine

On September 23-25 in Włodawa (Poland) the final of the educational campaign for Polish, Belarusian and Ukrainian schools from the border regions was held on the occasion of European Cooperation Day. As part of the final the Joint Technical Secretariat (JTS) organized a meeting for more than 100 children from 24 schools and from the Włodawa Arts Center.

First, there was a cross-border tournament: children in 12 mixed, cross-border teams had to pass 12 different stations and work together for the best score. Participants had to demonstrate general knowledge, creativity, sport skills and communication skills (despite language differences). The joint effort on the route at the Białe lake gave the children many positive feelings and emotions.

The second highlight of the event was to deposit the time capsule, to which the children themselves chose souvenirs. The capsule included, among others Red Book of plants and animals of the Republic of Belarus, Kobzar - a collection of poems of Taras Shevchenko, plant seeds, dried mushrooms, local recipes (including for proziaki), recorded music, tickets for matches, local editions of newspapers from three countries, a group photo of children autographed and 24 children's messages to future generations. The formal handover of the capsule was held at the Włodawa Arts Center in the presence of representatives of local authorities and representatives of cross-border cooperation projects implemented locally. The children also performed the dance (flash mob) to a song specially prepared for the European Cooperation Day. They also read out three selected messages to future generations, and finally took a lesson of multiculturalism visiting the old town.
