LAKE CABURGUA Roadtrip!! - Pucón Chile | 329
10 November 2019 - Day 80 - Lake Caburgua | 329
Today we explore the outer parts of Pucon, Chile and head to Lago Caburgua! Just next to Huerquehue National Park, it is one of the main things to do in Pucon and is a good daytrip to visit Ojos del Caburgua and Laguna Azul and the surroundings of Lago Caburgua!
Though accessible by public transport, we decide to do it in style and hire a car for the next 2 days! This will set you back a total of 22,000p ($46) per day, so the more the merrier! ????????????
We head east to our first stop to the picturesque Ojos del Caburgua and Laguna Azul. Next we head to Lago Caburgua where there lies Playa Negra & Playa Blanco, two small beaches with pristine clear water and snow-tipped mountains in the background!! ????????????
On the way back crossing a random bridge, we stumble across a colourful stream surrounded by yellow flowers and decided to go for a stroll and take Mav up!! So worth it having our own car to drive around and explore! ????????????????
We end the day back in town and to our surprise, there was a small protest on the street! Though a far-cry from the craziness of the big cities, it was good to see even the townspeople are getting into the spirit! ???? ????????

Huffington Post:
Left the capital of Chile and after a comfortable twelve hour bus ride towards the south of Chile, I woke up in a completely different world. The capital of Chile, Santiago, is hot and dry, very latin, and when I woke up in Pucon, I felt like I was back in Canada. Pucon is surrounded by glorious green forest, lakes, rivers and mountains.
The first day, after a much needed nap, I took the bus to Ojos del Caburgua, or the Eyes of Caburgua. The town of Caburgua is a tiny little commune about 20 minutes from the town of Pucon and before you arrive, on your left hand side is the entrance to these amazing little fresh water pools, known as the Ojos del Caburgua.
The river of Caburgua, and Lake of Caburgua both empty via these tributaries and make these gorgeous little pools which are a spectacle to see. Unfortunately you cannot swim at the Ojos del Caburgua but they are definitely worth the visit.

Caburgua Lake - Pucón, Chile
Caburgua Lake is located 23 km northeast of the Chilean city of Pucón, in the Araucanía Region. The lake is one of the main destinations in Pucón during the Summer. It's possible to do many activities like kayaking on the Caburgua Lake. I had a perfect day there and I enjoyed the lake a lot.

PUCÓN - OJOS DEL CABURGA - VILLARRICA
Un recorrido express por un día con muchas cosas que compartir
Pucon | Chile | Villarrica | 4k | Drone | National Park | Termas | Waterfall | Volcano
We traveled to Pucon in the south of chile, which is one of my favorite places on earth. We went hiking in the national parks, swimming under a waterfall and relaxing at the cleanest beaches of all time or in the most wonderful hot water thermes ever. With the beautiful lake and the volcano at sunset a day couldn't be more perfect.
Pucón is a Chilean city and commune administered by the municipality of Pucón. It is located in the Province of Cautín, Araucanía Region, 100 km to the southeast of Temuco and 780 km to the south of Santiago. It is on the eastern shore of Lake Villarrica, and Villarrica volcano is located roughly 17 km to the south.
Pucón's location by a lake and volcano, along with its relatively stable climate, especially in summer, make it a popular destination for tourists. It offers a variety of sports and activities for tourists, including water skiing, snow skiing, backpacking, white water rafting and kayaking, horse back riding, natural hot springs, zip line rides, skydiving and guided ascents of Villarrica volcano.
Villarrica is the closest volcano to Pucón and is frequently climbed from the town. Other volcanoes in the area include Mocho-Choshuenco, Quetrupillán and Lanín. Villarrica has had more than 82 eruptions since 1558, the most recent of which occurred on March 3, 2015. It is possible to climb it throughout the year, if weather and volcanic activity permit. During winter, the summit is completely covered by snow, and offers views of at least seven of the surrounding lakes.
National parks in the area include Villarrica National Park, Huerquehue National Park and Villarrica National Reserve. Some of the main lakes near Pucón are Villarrica, Caburgua and Tinquilco.
There are several hot springs and spas in the commune of Pucón and the surrounding area, including: Palguín, Rio Blanco, Huife, Quimey-Co and Los Pozones. The nearby commune of Curarrehue also contains popular spas, including: Menetúe, San Luis, Trancura, Panqui and Ancamil.

Pucón, Chile - Things to do - Travel Guide
Pucón is extremely popular both with Chileans and foreigners for the beautiful views of Volcano Villarrica , which is the highest and most-active climbable volcano in South America. The city centre is a backpacker's paradise, filled with travel agencies offering a wide range of day trips. Apparently, also the night-life is quite active. If you don't like it crowded, avoid January and February as they are the busiest months. We visited in February.
We stayed just outside of the town in Caburgua on a lovely tranquil estate, Hotel Salto del Carileufu . From here we could explore the area avoiding the busy town centre unless eating out. Don't get me wrong it was a lovely place but in this guide we stick to things you can do in the area, around Pucón, rather than the town.
We visited numerous Waterfalls like Ojos Del Caburgua, and Salto El Léon. Spent hours just driving the local area with so many lakes and views to stop at and take pictures.
A highlight shown in the video was Termas Geometricas. It's a 2 hour scenic drive from Pucon and the last 30 minutes is on a bumpy gravel road, but don't let that put you off. Most 2 wheel drive cars are fine if you take it slow! It is really is an amazing place, Highly recommend you make the effort.
Anyway we hope you enjoy the video and follow us on to Argentina for the next part of our trip!

Zip Line at Ojos de Caburgua, Pucon Chile
Great day zip lining at Ojos de Caburgua. About thousand years ago a volcano erupted and blocked the valley and a lake was formed. The water peculates out through volcanic rock and comes out of the ground at Eyes of Lake Caburgua. Some of my favorite tools:
