Mt Cobbler
A great drive up to Mt Cobbler on a lovely day.
Mt Cobbler is in the Alpine National Park, Victoria.
Lake Cobbler waterfalls
This is a veiw across the Victorian Alpine National Park from Lake Cobbler waterfalls. With a drop of approx 600m, this area provides an awesome sight.
We stayed here on a 4x4 trip but this area can be accessed by car from Myrtleford.
Lake Cobbler was originally a subalpine wetland, dammed in the 1950s by timbergetters. The shores of the lake now provide a pleasant setting for camping and picnicking amongst the snowgums. The road is closed during the winter months and often covered in snow offering remote cross-country skiing opportunities for experienced skiers.
Vic High Country - King river hut to Lake Cobbler
Short video showing the track from King river hut to Lake Cobbler up in the Victorian high country. This trip takes an hour to do 1 way, it is not steep at all but can be pretty rocky and bumpy in a few places . The famed staircase is on this route but it must of been graded that many times its not hard at all anymore.
Route: Start at King hut , take Speculation rd towards the Cobbler Plateau, turn left onto Cobbler Lake track and then turn left into the main carpark where Cobbler hut is.

lake cobbler falls or Dandongadale Falls
Located on the edge of Mount Cobbler Plateau in Victoria's Alpine National Park near the town of Mansfield, Dandongadale Falls are the highest in Victoria at 255 metres. The water supplying the falls originates in Lake Cobbler from where it spills over successive cascades in a series of significant drops, culminating in the final drop over the escarpment.
Dandongadale Falls at Lake Cobbler
Located on the edge of Mount Cobbler Plateau in Victoria's Alpine National Park near the town of Mansfield, Dandongadale Falls are the highest in Victoria at 255 metres. The water supplying the falls originates in Lake Cobbler from where it spills over successive cascades in a series of significant drops, culminating in the final drop over the escarpment.
Because Dandongadale Falls is fed by a relatively small catchment on the Cobbler Plateau, the flows over the falls vary greatly and are very seasonal, with strong flows during winter and the spring thaw in the alpine catchment area. However, the flows can be very low or almost non-existent during the summer and in drought periods as is illustrated in the accompanying photo taken during the recent prolonged drought. The darker staining caused by water on the rocks surrounding the falls shows that at its height, the volume of water can be extensive.

Landscape Photography Adventures - Lake Cobbler region Pt 1
The Victorian High Country, being only a few hours away from home, is an amazing escape from normal surroundings. Rugged terrain, difficult 4wd tracks, gorgeous hiking tracks, it has everything a landscape photographer could want.
This trip began at Lake Cobbler, followed by a trip to the top of Mt Speculation for sunset, then back to camp after dark. Part 2 of the video shows the remainder of the trip, from Lake Cobbler to Mt Stirling, then travelling back to camp around the back of Mt Cobbler.
Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed the video, and please feel free to leave some feedback and I'll try to get back to you!!

Hiking Lake Tali Karng in Winter
Lake Tali Karng is the only lake in the Victorian Alpine National Park. At 35 acres in size and with a depth of 50 meters the lake is surrounded by the mountain peaks that 1500 years ago collapsed to create it. There are two ways into the lake, a shorter easier route from the North or a longer more challenging 17km trek up the Wellington River from the south. We hike this more challenging approach in winter and enjoy an almost deserted natural jewel. Subscribe for a new video each week! New content uploaded every weekend.

Cross Cut Saw Alpine National Park by Drone
Deep inside Victoria's Alpine National park lies the cross cut saw. A knife edge ridge line that extends 5 to 6km at over 1700m elevation between Mount Howitt and Mount Speculation. A gorgeous sight at sunrise and a perfect place to do some high country trail running
