Konstanz/Constance Bodensee | Episode I | Day Trip to Konstanz | Lakes in Germany | South Germany |
Konstanz (Constance) and Bodensee
Hello all Viewers this is my 1st Episode of Bodensee Trip. Konstanz is the the biggest city of Bodensee. And Bodensee is one of the biggest Lake in Europe. It boarders 3 German Speaking Countries : Germany, Austria, Switzerland. On the 2nd Day after Neuschwainstein Castle I and my Friends went to this South Germany City Konstanz. This is the most beautiful Place in Germany also the best Place to visit in Germany. I would like to Mention here these are one of the Gems of Germany.
Konstanz is the only medieval age City (altstadt/old city) left intact in World war II as the Alliances decided not to destroy it because of its beautiful neighborhood Kreuzlingen a City of Switzerland.
We took a Boat Ride from Meersburg to Konstanz. And there also we took a motorboat Ride. Which was a lovely Experience. Do keep it in Mind for high speed Motor Boat Ride you do need Motor Boat Licence.
In the afternoon we took lunch in Asiatown Restaurant, where we luckily found Veg. Sushi.
There is more to explore ....so keep Watching....
Thank you for watching .. the Journey is still on .. so dare to Dream Travel to Discover.

GERMANY: Meersburg - town on Lake Constance [HD]
Meersburg is one of the prettiest resorts on the shores of Lake Constance (German: Bodensee), in the southwest of Germany .
The name of the town means Burg on the Sea, the former referring to the old castle which, according to an old legend and a 1548 document say that the creation of this impressive stronghold dates back to the 7th century, to the Merovingians under king Dagobert 1st.
The lakeside lower town is home to the boat and ferry landings, a lakefront promenade, hotels, restaurants, bars, and sporting activities
The upper town is a hillside cluster of historic buildings, museums, galleries, cafés, shops, and vineyards.
Museums include the Old Castle (with guided tours year-round), the New Castle (with Baroque rooms, art exhibits, and the Dornier aviation museum), the Bible Gallery, a Town Museum, the Wine Museum, and even a Zeppelin Museum that complements the larger Zeppelin Museum Friedrichshafen.
The lower town and upper town are reserved for pedestrians only. Both sections of town have remnants of medieval walls (including two ancient gates). You can go back and forth between the two by a steep street or two stairways.

Germany - One day in Konstanz
Summer is already over again and it was raining the whole week. But the weather was supposed to get better during the weekend so we decided to go to Konstanz at Lake Constance (In German Bodensee) to enjoy the last sunny days for this year. After we spend the first day on the Mainau Island we used the second day to explore the city. Konstanz is situated on Lake Constance. The Rhine river, which starts in the Swiss Alps, passes through Lake Constance and leaves it, considerably larger, by flowing under a bridge connecting the two parts of the city. North of the river lies the larger part of the city with residential areas, industrial estates, and the University of Konstanz; while south of the river is the old town, which houses the administrative centre and shopping facilities in addition to the Hochschule or the University of Applied Sciences. Car ferries provide access across Lake Constance to Meersburg, and the Katamaran provides a shuttle service for pedestrians to Friedrichshafen. At the old town's southern border lies the Swiss town of Kreuzlingen. The Altstadt (Old Town), which is large considering the small size of modern Konstanz, has many old buildings and twisting alleys. The city skyline is dominated by the majestic Münster Cathedral, several other churches and three towers left over from the city wall, one of which marks the place of the former medieval bridge over the Rhine.

GERMANY: Mainau - flower island in Lake Constance [HD]
Mainau is an island on the south shore of Lake Constance (German: Bodensee) near the city of Konstanz, Germany. It is maintained as a garden island and a model of excellent environmental practices.
It is one of the main tourist attractions of Lake Constance. Beside flowers there is a park landscape with views on the lake. There is also a greenhouse with tropical climate and thousands of butterflies.
Mainau contains 500 species of deciduous and coniferous trees, many exotic and valuable. The island also contains about 200 rhododendron and azalea varieties.
The Italian Rose Garden laid out geometrically with pergolas, sculptures, and fountains, includes some 500 rose varieties.
The Mediterranean terraces contain exotic pot plants, including palm trees, agaves, cacti, and Bougainvillea.
The island as a whole contains about 30,000 rose bushes representing 1,200 varieties, and about 20,000 dahlias of 250 varieties.

Konstanz, Germany City Tour!!
Few days ago I went to the city Konstanz in Germany for some hours! I couldn't resist but do a city tour of Constance for my channel! The Konstanz old town has been quite cute and next to it is the Bodensee (Constance Lake), which is the biggest lake in Germany.
...Has been such long time since I did last time a travel video or city tour like this one! Fun Fact: This has been my second time there. Last time was in December 2014, when I was cycling from Germany to Portugal.
Marked sights in the video are the: Kaiserbrunnen, Imperia and the Münster.

Places to see in ( Konstanz - Germany ) Lake Constance
Places to see in ( Konstanz - Germany ) Lake Constance
Lake Constance (German: Bodensee) is a lake on the Rhine at the northern foot of the Alps, and consists of three bodies of water: the Obersee or Upper Lake Constance, the Untersee or Lower Lake Constance, and a connecting stretch of the Rhine, called the Seerhein. These waterbodies lie within the Lake Constance Basin (Bodenseebecken), which is part of the Alpine Foreland and through which the Rhine flows.
The lake is situated in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Its shorelines lie in the German states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, and the Swiss cantons of Thurgau, St. Gallen, and Schaffhausen. The Rhine flows into the lake from the south, with its original course forming the Austro-Swiss border, and has its outflow on the Lower Lake where — except for Schaffhausen — it forms the German-Swiss border until the city of Basel.
Lake Constance is the third largest freshwater lake in Central and Western Europe in terms of surface area (and the second largest in terms of volume), after Lake Geneva and (in terms of surface area) Lake Balaton. It is 63 km (39 mi) long, and at its widest point, nearly 14 km (8.7 mi) wide. It covers approximately 536 km2 (207 sq mi), and is 395 m (1,296 ft) above sea level. The greatest depth is 252 metres (827 ft), quite precisely in the middle of the Upper Lake. Its volume is approximately 48 km3 (12 cu mi).
Lake Constance was formed by the Rhine Glacier during the ice age and is a zungenbecken lake. After the end of the last glacial period, about 10,000 years ago, the Obersee and Untersee still formed a single lake. The downward erosion of the High Rhine caused the lake level to gradually sink and a sill, the Konstanzer Schwelle, to emerge.
Lake Constance is located in the foothills of the Alps. The shore length of both main lakes is 273 kilometres long. Of this, 173 kilometres are located in Germany (Baden-Württemberg 155 km, Bavaria 18 km), 28 kilometres run through Austria and 72 kilometres through Switzerland. If the Upper and Lower Lakes are combined, Lake Constance has a total area of 536 km², the third largest lake in Central Europe by area after Lake Balaton (594 km²) and Lake Geneva (580 km²). It is also the second largest by water volume (48.5 km³) after Lake Geneva (89 km³) and extends for over 69.2 kilometres between Bregenz and Stein am Rhein. Its catchment area is around 11,500 square kilometres, and reaching as far south as Lago di Lei in Italy.
By far the largest is the island of Reichenau in the Untersee, which belongs to the municipality of Reichenau. The former abbey of Reichenau is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its three early and highly medieval churches. The island is also known for its intensive cultivation of fruit and vegetables.
The island of Lindau is located in the east of the Obersee, and is the second largest island. On it is the old town and main railway station of Lindau. The third largest island is Mainau in the southeast of Lake Überlingen. The owners, the family of Bernadotte, have set up the island as a tourist attraction and created botanical gardens and wildlife enclosures.
