Lake De Smet, Buffalo, Wyoming and Longmire days
We stayed at Mikesell-Potts Campground on Lake Ddddde Smet just outside of Buffalo, Wyoming. Very nice and clean campground. you can't beat the price of $10/day dry camping or $15/day with electric. No water or sewer hookups.
Buffalo Wyoming is the home town of Craig Johnson the writer of the tv series Longmire. It just happened to be Longmire days when we visited. Didn't meet anyone from the cast though.

Delightful Lake DeSmet
This is the time of year when the Wyoming Game and Fish conducts annual population estimates of the state’s fisheries. It’s a good way to see how well a fishery is thriving. At Lake DeSmet in northern Wyoming, a fish stocking strategy seems to be paying off.

Our trip to Buffalo WY was great. Make sure if you go you take a trip up into the BigHorns.

Thousands visit Buffalo, Wyoming for ‘Longmire Days’
Even though it’s been three years since the last new episode of “Longmire” aired, thousands of people last week visited the Wyoming town that inspired the setting for the books written by Ucross, Wyoming author Craig Johnson.
An estimated 10,000 were in Buffalo, Wyoming on July 18-21 to celebrate the eighth annual “Longmire Days,” an event created to commemorate the popular television and book series.
Fans from around the world flock to Buffalo for the autograph sessions with stars from the show, parades, a craft show, talent show and classic car show that highlight the weekend.
Damaris Miller of Colorado said her love of the show will keep her coming to Buffalo every year even though the show is no longer in production.
The streaming service Netflix continues to air past episodes of “Longmire.”

Wyoming's Largest Swimming Pool, The Buffalo City Pool
We have one whopper of a swimming pool here in Buffalo Wyoming, if fact it the largest swimming pool in the state of Wyoming, and it if free for anyone who wants to swim. The pool is 120 meters X 80 meters, that means that 10 laps the short way across the pool is 1 mile.

KOKO Jack and I enjoyed some time alone at Lake DeSmet while Robert visited family. It had been forever since I broke camp and drove any distance by myself. Other than making some wrong turns and almost running out of gas, I did pretty good!

Road Ready Campground Review, Fort Bridger RV Camp, Fort Bridger Wyoming. As we made our way west along I80, we wanted to stop for a couple days in Wyoming. We found this place through good sams, and it happened to be still open. The spots were large, and the staff friendly. We had full hook ups with 50 amp service, and some great views. It was also right next to the Fort Bridger State Historic Site. It was an important trading post and stop along the Oregon trail.
