Lake Haruna in Japan
Lake Haruna (Haruna-ko) is a caldera lake in Japan.
It lies near the summit of Mount Haruna, within the city limits of Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture.
Fishing, boating and camping can all be enjoyed within the natural surroundings.
It can be reached in 40 minutes by car from Shibukawa-Ikaho Interchange, #12 on the Kan-Etsu Highway.

????????????Walking around the city of Takasaki (高崎市), Japan (日本), Gunma Prefecture (群馬県). I was walking around JR Takasaki station (JR高崎駅) of East Exit (東口) (高崎駅東口). I was walking around the north side of East Exit at this time.
Takasaki is a city located in Gunma Prefecture. The estimated population is 368,667. It’s the biggest city in Gunma. “Takasaki is famous as the hometown of the Daruma doll, theoretically representing the Buddhist sage Bodhidharma and in modern practice a symbol of good luck. Takasaki is a regional commercial center and transportation hub and is a major industrial center within Gunma Prefecture.” from Wikipedia. I walked around about 43 minutes. It was pretty much a long walk. In addition, it was a really hot day, but it was worth it. As you can see, Takasaki is a great residential and shopping area. It’s just 1 hour away from the central Tokyo area with a bullet train. I recommend living here.

This is a video of me riding through my neighborhood in rural Haruna, Japan. (Takasaki city, Gunma Prefecture, Japan) It was a cool day late in the fall,but it was warming up. I just wanted to shoot something about the neighborhood. Sorry about the shaky camera work, shot on a Canon Powershot SD790 IS , point and shoot camera , at 640 x 480, handheld while I was riding. Music is Seishun Kyousoukyoku by Sambomaster and Wind by Akeboshi .

Haruna Lake JAPAN ( 榛名山) - NEW YEAR 2012
Mount Haruna has many peaks and the tallest one, Mount Kamonga is 1,449 m high. It appeared about 300,000 years ago and the last known eruption was c. 550. The volcano has a summit caldera containing the symmetrical cone of Mount Harunafuji, along with a crater lake, Lake Haruna, along the western side. To the west of the lake is Mount Kamonga, the tallest peak.
The lake and the area to its east, as well as the southern and southwestern slopes, lie within the borders of Takasaki city. The border of Shibukawa city (to the east) nearly approaches Lake Haruna.

Haruna Lake Gunmaken Part 1
Lake Haruna is a caldera lake. It lies near the summit of Mount Haruna, within the city limits of Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. A former name for the lake is Lake Ikaho. In the summer, the lake is a popular destination for campers.The colors of leaves ???? are very beautiful.
