Mountain Biking Eureka Springs, Arkansas Lake Leatherwood Gravity Trail System

Arkansas is building trail systems at an unimaginable pace. To compliment Coler Bike Park in Bentonville they have created another gravity trail system about an hour south in Eureka Springs. Lake Leatherwood has the biggest technical features I've witnessed so far in person. It's comparable if not surpasses Coler but the one added benefit is that Lake Leatherwood has a shuttle service back up to the top provided by Eureka's Parks and Recreation which is super cool. All though this video is long it's an excellent tour guide of every trail feature provided on each one of their runs. If you haven't gone to Arkansas yet this is another convincing reason to send it!

Lake Leatherwood City Park in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We are a small tourist/artist town less than 30 miles from the home of Walmart in the Arkansas Ozarks. We have a population of 2000 so having a park like this is pretty amazing. The park goes all through the valley including the lake. What you don't see are the hiking trails and world class mountain biking trails. Central Park is nice but ... eat your heart out New Yorkers! ;-) (please don't use this footage without permission. Camping Eureka Springs | Lake Leatherwood Mountain Biking & Downhill | Crescent Hotel Ghost Tour

We packed a lot into this camping trip! We drove from Little Rock, Arkansas up to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We set up camp at the Eureka Springs KOA. We had a few small holes in the floor of our tent, so we showed how the patch those holes. We just have to say that this campground is one of the best pay to stay campgrounds we have every stayed at. When we got there, Kellie cooked a cajun shrimp pasta. After diner, we drove back Eureka Springs and found a great bar called the Gravel Bar at Wanderoo Lodge. We hung out there until our Ghost Tour at the Crescent Hotel began. After that we drove to downtown Eureka Springs to Tour the Haunted History of the Crescent Hotel. The next morning Kellie cooked pancakes. When we first arrived the day before, Cody had backed into a tree with his bike rack and bent his wheel. So on this day, we drove downtown to Adventure Mountain Outfitters to rent a bike for the day. After renting the bike, Kellie decided that she would rather go get a massage at New Moon Spa located in the Crescent Hotel. Cody went ahead and mountain bike road at Lake Leatherwood Park, mtb trails. He road Miner's Rock Trail, and DH5. After we were done with riding and our massage, we return the bike and drove back to camp to shower. Once clean, we drove back to downtown Eureka Springs and had an amazing dinner at Ermilio's Italian Home Cooking. We toured the old neighborhoods, and found the Grotto Spring on Spring Street. Next we were wanting something sweet, so we found Ellen's Patisserie, and picked up a carrot cake. We finished our evening off at The Stone House wine bar.

This was from a trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas in October 2019. Featuring the Crescent Hotel and Spa, which is know to be one of America's most haunted hotels, where you can take ghost tours and eat brunch. Basin Park hotel is said to be another haunted hotel along with the New Orleans Hotel. The courthouse is also said to be haunted with reports of papers flying and office supplies moving to new locations.

Eureka Springs Enduro

Racers compete Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, during the Eureka Springs round of the Arkansas Enduro Series at Lake Leatherwood City Park. The event continues Sunday with stages at the Passion Play trails and an urban downhill leg through downtown Eureka Springs. The fifth and final race of the Arkansas Enduro Series season takes place Sept. 22 at the Coler Mountain Bike Preserve in Bentonville. Enduro is a type of mountain bike race with multiple time trial stages that are mostly downhill and technical. The downhill stages are linked together by untimed transition stages or shuttle buses.
