Skating with the Stars, Lake Louise, Banff National Park.
We had a flash freeze and for two days the skating at Lake Louise in Banff National Park was the best I had ever experienced. So I was messing around with my new iPhone 11 Max and had a DJI OSMO 2 steady cam/gimbal. Rather than sit on this and do nothing I thought I would lay a track down and add some clips. It is not well done because I am short on time. So without further ado, here is 20 minutes of editing.

VIDEO: Winter in Lake Louise. A real life snow globe in the heart of Banff National Park.
In Lake Louise, we live and breathe winter. The epitome of luxury in a winter wonderland setting, it's just like staying in a real life snow globe. As snowflakes fall from the sky, they dust our winter wonderland with a layer of magic. This is when the soaring mountain peaks of the Canadian Rockies are delicate, untouched and pure. Branches are dressed in snowy white and the vast, white wilderness twinkles under the sun's rays. A stillness lingers in the air, begging to be broken by the crunch of a snowshoe, the blades of an ice skate and the edges of a ski.
This is a time to explore the depths of our wild, winter culture from the base that outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers have been using for more than 100 years. Discover our best kept winter secrets while snowshoeing with our Mountain Adventure Guides. Skate or play pond hockey on one of the world's most spectacular outdoor skating rinks. Sit back and enjoy the scenery from your horse-drawn sleigh... the choice is yours! And there's so much more.
Wiggle into some long johns and come out to play in our winter wonderland in the heart of Banff National Park - the True North Rockies.

Lake Louise - City Video Guide
Lake Louise is just 60 km from Banff and Banff National Park. While most creatures are hibernating in the winter, Lake Louise is just coming to life. Frozen waterfalls, alpine woodlands, and plenty of chances to play on the snow all make Lake Louise an ideal place to visit during winter time.
Lake Louise tourism opportunities are a dream come true for snow lovers. The Lake Louis ski area has a whopping 42 acres of mountain terrain and well over 100 marked trails. Snowboarders are also welcome to make their way down the mountain. What better way to do some Lake Louise sightseeing than on the back of a dogsled? Dogsledding is a true adventure, taking you through forest trails.
Once you’ve had your fill of the slopes, slow things down with an ice skating excursion or snowshoe across the frozen lake. Enjoy Lake Louise tours in a horse drawn carriage, where you can soak up the chilled air and have a magical winter experience. While you have your choice of accommodations, none quite compare to the Fairmont Chateau, which sits right on the shore of the lake and is exquisitely outfitted.

Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada *HD*
Lake Louise, named Lake of the Little Fishes by the Stoney Nakota First Nations people, is a glacial lake within Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. It is located 3.1 miles west of the Hamlet of Lake Louise and the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1).
Lake Louise is named after the Princess Louise Caroline Alberta (1848–1939), the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and the wife of the Marquess of Lorne, who was the Governor General of Canada from 1878 to 1883.
The emerald color of the water comes from rock flour carried into the lake by melt-water from the glaciers that overlook the lake. The lake has a surface of 0.31 sq miles and is drained through the 3 km long Louise Creek into the Bow River.
Fairmont's Chateau Lake Louise, one of Canada's grand railway hotels, is located on Lake Louise's eastern shore. It is a luxury resort hotel built in the early decades of the 20th century by the Canadian Pacific Railway.
Moraine Lake and Lake Agnes are also accessible from Lake Louise.
Filmed in August of 2014 with a Canon 650D (Rebel T4i) by Sheety33.
Lake Louise | Canada Travel Diary
Another stunning leg of our Canadian journey, nestled between sky-high snowcapped mountains, glacial streams and the bluest lakes you've ever seen. Lake Louise had only just thawed after winter and the kayaks launched the day we arrived. A little wildlife teaser at the end too - don't miss my next video of our close encounter with a young grizzly bear!

Spontaneous Lake Louise Trip! Winter at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
Surprised Nat with a trip to Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada! We left from Los Angeles (LAX) on Friday, Nov. 8 and flew Air Canada to the Calgary Airport (YYC).
We stayed at Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel on Friday night, then took the Brewster Express from the terminal to Lake Louise (stopped in Banff along the way).
We stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise on Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights, enjoying the hotel, the restaurants (Fairview, especially) and a hike around Lake Louise.
On Monday we took a day trip to Banff, where we checked out the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel, and rode the Banff Gondola up to the top of the mountain (and took the boardwalk to the Sulphur Mountain peak in Banff National Park).
A great trip and we can't recommend the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in the shoulder season/winter highly enough!
