Total Solar Eclipse 2017 - Lake Murray, SC
My family and I were fortunate enough to witness one of the most amazing events to hit the United States in 99 years! Words cannot express what we saw today. I'm hoping this video will give other people around the world a chance to experience what it's like to witness a total solar eclipse.
All of this footage was taken on the Chapin, SC side of Lake Murray known as Crystal Lakes. Video and pictures came from multiple devices including a GoPro Hero 2, GoPro Session, Nikon Coolpix B700 and a DJI Phantom 3. It was difficult keeping track of each device, so I apologize for the subpar, shakey footage.
This phenomenon will surely stay engrained in our memories and we look forward to the next pass in 2024. Thanks for watching!

In South Carolina, if you are 65 and older and lived in your house for at least one year, you are entitled to the Homestead Tax Exemption. This program exempts the first $50,000 of the value of your home from all property taxes. This also applies to property held in revocable trust, and is extended to a surviving spouse 50 years or older.
