Photos taken around the villages of Ogawa, Kinasa, Nakajo and the cities of Omachi(Aoki, Kizaki, Nakatsuna Lakes ) and Matsumoto (Utsukushigahara).

北アルプス（飛騨山脈）の東側を、大町市以南は高瀬川、その北は日本海へと注ぐ姫川に沿って走っている。沿線には立山黒部アルペンルートの東口である大町市を控え、仁科三湖（木崎湖・中綱湖・青木湖）などの行楽地やスキー場が多く、行楽客や白馬岳などへの登山者の足であるとともに、松本市・安曇野市など沿線都市への通勤・通学路線としても機能している。広域輸送としては主に中央本線からの特急列車が直通している。

The name Azusa is taken from the Azusa River in Matsumoto, Nagano.
