Nkuruba Nature Reserve, outside Fort Portal, Uganda
This was a delightful little spot, not so far from the city of Fort Portal. Nkuruba is one of many crater lakes in this part of the country. It is surrounded by an intact forest whose inhabitants include Black-and-white Colobus Monkeys and Horned Bills. Great vistas of the Rwenzoris and friendly kids in the surrounding villages. A beautiful spot to relax and unwind and soak in the beauty around you and another highlight of Western Uganda.

African expedition 2018 (24) - Ugandan lakes. Lake Nkuruba and surrounding. One day there.
This time I went to crater lakes in Kibale forest region where is over 25 lakes. I stopped for overnight on Nkuruba nature campsite. It's nice place perfect for relax and chilling out. All day on campsite you can to observe many monkeys Black and white colobus or Ugandan red colobus and many more. Lake Nkuruba is very small lake because to arisen in small crater. Other lakes are bigger. It's good place as a base to go to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee walk. Early afternoon I walked onto Top of the world which mean highest peak in area with amazing view on two other lakes. Also like always I spend a bit time in local villages....

Chimpanzee Field Research at Semliki, Uganda
This is a snap shot of what it is like performing research and habituating chimpanzees at a dry habitat field site. The site is the Toro-Semliki Wildlife Reserve and has been directed by Dr. Kevin Hunt (of Indiana University) since 1996. David Samson (PhD candidate in association with Indiana University) spent half a year, though 2010, as the Assistant Project Director for the Semliki Chimpanzee Project.
Colobus Camp
We are staying at the absolutely delightful Nkuruba camp, in the forests and crater lakes south of Fort Portal in western Uganda. Yesterday afternoon, as we chilled out at the camp, fixing cars, reading, tidying boxes and so on, a troop of Colobus monkeys careened through the trees above our campsite, apparently quite unconcerned about our presence. Max grabbed the camera, and caught some great images.
