Hokkaido Japan Day 8 | Nemuro, Japanese Shrines and Hokkaido Cheesecake
This is Day 8 of living in a van in Japan, driving all over Hokkaido Japan. Today we went from Nemuro to cape Nosappu. Today was a little different as we didn't sleep in the van! We actually booked into a nice little B&B because it was Aska's birthday. We found a quiet shrine, ate lots of crab and much more.

Our travel continues on the other side of lake Kussharo, the sand of the shore is full of holes! Actually if you dig a hole, from underneath hot spring water will fill it up and you can dip into it your feet and have a natural spa time! From there we are crossing to a higher elevation where the fog is so thick that you can't see around more than 25 meter, very eerie feeling! And lastly we visit Lake Onetto that has a very special emerald green color thanks to some minerals and when the surface is still, it has a mirror-like effect.

The forest around Lake Onneto that has been repeating death and regeneration by volcanic eruptions. The forest that has regenerated itself many times in a dazzlingly long time.
Tokachi River is the third longest river in Hokkaido. The canoe tour is also popular in summer. You can go down the river enjoying the nature. It is apparently easier to see the wild life such as White-taled Eagle or Sand martin from the river. You can also find rare stones used in stone implements.
Lake Shikotsu is the second biggest caldera lake in Hokkaido. The quality of its water has been ranked number one in Japan for 11 years in a row.
You can enjoy mountain bike tour around Lake Shikotsu, even if you are a beginner.
You are heading to the superb viewpoint of Lake Shikotsu, where we can approach only by mountain-bike.

Hokkaido Travel Day 6 | Sunflower Field, Outdoor Onsen And Hot Waterfall
This is day 6 of living in a van in Japan traveling Hokkaido. Today we went from Yubetsu to Lake Kussharo and slept in the van at a closed camp ground parking lot. This was another beautiful day in Hokkaido with a red corral grass, a huge sunflower field, another free outdoor onsen and a hot waterfall!
