Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario
Recorded June 26, 2012
Boasting elegant clapboard houses and verdant, mature gardens, all spread along tree-lined streets, Niagara-on-the-Lake, 16 miles downstream from the falls, is one of Ontario's most charming little towns, much of it dating from the early nineteenth century.

Lake Ontario & Bronte Harbor - Oakville, Ontario, Canada
Located South – West of Oakville, the Lake Ontario with its vast expanse of water lapping the shore in waves with rhythmic roar is akin to a seashore which one would expect to find. The tourists and local inhabitants in equal measure have a fun and frolic on the shore. The Bronte Harbor located on the lake is fascinating site for viewing the luxury yachts / boats anchored with people on board relaxing in their own style. The water sports enthusiasts have a measure of thrill and adventure riding on speed boats criss crossing the lake waters. The lakeside trail is favored by dog owners with their pets on tight leash and casual walkers to amble along. The garden adjoining the lake is enlivened by a few groups sitting and having a lunch party in cool comfort of shaded areas.

Tour of The Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada | Stoney Lake, Lovesick Lake & Buckhorn Lake
Stunning aerial footage of my three favorite lakes in the Kawartha chain of lakes in Ontario, Canada, part of the Trent Severn Waterway. The footage was shot in 4K, but will display here on Youtube as 1080p. If you have not yet visited or boated on the Kawartha Lakes, I highly recommend it. I have also highlighted three of my favorite places to stay on Lower Buckhorn Lake and Lovesick Lake, you will find links to their websites below.
*FYI: I am not sponsored, nor have I been paid in any way by any of the resorts/lodges that I have listed. They are all family owned & operated businesses ran by awesome people, I'm simply trying to support them.

More information about the video content bellow:
1. People have lived in what is now Ontario for more than 12,000 years. Before the arrival of the European settlers, Algonquian- and Iroquoian-speaking Aboriginals had settled on the land. In 1867, Ontario and Quebec became separate provinces. They joined Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to form a federal union called the Dominion of Canada. This was declared in the British North America Act. The new country’s capital was the small town of Ottawa.
2. The second-largest province in Canada, Ontario covers over 415,000 square miles (one million square kilometers). This makes it larger than France and Spain combined. A big part of this land mass actually features lakes, so if you’re a water enthusiast you’ll be in seventh heaven in Ontario. In fact, the state boasts around a quarter of a million lakes in total, which makes up approximately 20 percent of the world’s fresh water stores.
3. Toronto is the province’s capital and largest city. Some of its more interesting features include the fact that the city has become one of the premier destinations for foodies as it’s home to over 8,000 restaurants for its 5.6 million residents. Toronto is the third most popular city in North America for film production and provides over 25,000 jobs in that industry.
4. Ottawa is the capital city of Canada. Founded in 1826 as Bytown, and incorporated as Ottawa in 1855, the city has evolved into the political centre of Canada. The city name Ottawa was chosen in reference to the Ottawa River, the name of which is derived from the Algonquin Odawa, meaning to trade.
5. Every country has its secrets and Canada is no exception. During World War II Canada operated a spy school near the town of Whitby. These intrepid young men were trained to spy on the enemies of the Allies and two famous men made up the class roster. These were Ian Fleming, creator of the James Bond series of books, and Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Camp X was used after the war as a communication interception station but those operations ceased in 1969. Today the location is called Intrepid Park.
6. A well-known geographic feature is Niagara Falls, part of the Niagara Escarpment. Niagara Falls is the collective name for three waterfalls that straddle the international border between the Canadian province Ontario and the American state of New York. They form the southern end of the Niagara Gorge.
7. Yonge Street is a major arterial route connecting the shores of Lake Ontario in Toronto to Lake Simcoe, a gateway to the Upper Great Lakes. Until 1999, the Guinness Book of World Records repeated the popular misconception it was 1,896 km long, and thus the longest street in the world; this was due to a conflation of Yonge Street with the rest of Ontario's Highway 11. Yonge Street (including the Bradford-to-Barrie extension) is actually 86 kilometres long.
