Festivals!! Tohoku has so many great events to make the most of each season in Japan. In winter, our favourite was Lake Towada's Winter Story festival. Throw in some frozen waterfalls and some tasty tasty beef 'barayaki' and we reckon we've created the best Winter Story in Aomori!

I went to Towada Winter Story back in February! We got there kind of late so there wasn't much time to film, so here's a short video. It's been a long time posting and the transitions got chopped up somehow, but I hope you like it!

Hi Guys! I am back with another video of our Tohoku travels! This time I am sharing 2 days around Lake Towada.
Lake Towada (十和田湖, Towadako) is part of the Towada-Hachimantai National Park and is the largest caldera lake on Honshu, Japan's main island. Located on the border between Akita and Aomori Prefectures, the area is well known for its autumn colors especially around the Oirase Stream.
This place is so “peaceful” ???? but really it is such a beautiful place to visit.
It was an amazing trip. Felt so calm and relaxed while staying here. We have also seen multiple camping spots around the lake so you can give that a go as well.

Japan, Part Two — Oirase Gorge & Lake Towada
Japan is my favorite place on the planet and I recently got to spend a week there as a guest of the Japan National Tourism Organization, and here's what happened. This is our second leg, a visit to the Oirase Gorge and Lake Towada. The gorge is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and the lake was a close second. JAPANESE TREASURES- ORIASE & TOWADA ????????
Hi Guys!
I am back with another video! Not so much eating included this time haha
We went to Nenokuchi by boat (50 mins approx) and started walking alongside the Oirase stream.
The Oirase Stream flows from Lake Towada on the border of Aomori and Akita prefectures through the equally scenic Oirase Gorge.
We were so done in the end..walked 18 plus KMs, but it was worth it. The stream has a lot of waterfalls and the colour of the water is so beautiful, mixture of white and blue.
Before leaving Lake Towada we went to see Towada Shrine. It was early in the morning so there was noone.
