Lake Wainamu Is in the west Auckland, It has the unique dune areas. It was very tiring to walk through the sand dune to reach the lake.

Lake Wainamu is located near Bethells Beach, Auckland New Zealand. Only an hours drive from the city makes it an ideal day trip. If you are feeling energetic take an old bodyboard or Maccers tray and ride down the sand dunes before cooling off in the lake!

Auckland's Wild West - Waitakere Ranges (Ft. HirayaTV)
A rugged scenery of Auckland, New Zealand just about 30-40min drive from CBD, a spectacular view of waterfalls, clifftops, beautiful beaches that you can also surf, but take note, these waves are massive, especially at Piha.
Our trip to Te Henga Walkway took us at about 1hr20min going to the clifftop, then while going down we did a side trip to the beach and took some pictures and videos along the way, and we even got lost and did go to a different route instead.

This video is a combined and reediting version for our previous two parts travel videos.
We had a trip to Fairy falls in January 2016. It took us one hour return. It was easy to go down to the bottom of Fairy falls, but it was tiring to go back up, there was so many staircases and we were both boiling like kettles! it was worth it though, as the waterfall was very pretty. Enjoy

The 3 best things to do in Te henga, Auckland west coast
The information below is from the website
1) Te Henga Beach (also known as Bethells Beach) is a large, dark sandy stretch of sand beach and is one of a quartet of popular beaches on Auckland's west coast along with Piha, Muriwai and Karekare. The photogenic qualities of the beach has meant its featured in a number of television projects including Xena: Warrior Princess.
The beautiful beach meets the mouth of the Waitakere River which flows into the wild surf of the Tasman Sea. Visitors can access the beach from the car park with a short walk alongside the Waitakere River to the beach.
2) The Te Henga Walkway follows the coastline from Bethells to Muriwai Beach. The Department of Conservation rate it as one of New Zealand’s top twelve walking tracks and in our humble opinion it is nothing short of spectacular.
The O’Neils Beach walk takes approximately 40 minutes each way. Walk to the northern end of Bethells Beach and follow the track over the hill to O’Neils.
3) Lake Wainamu is a freshwater lake surrounded by native bush and a giant sand dune to surf on!
the visitor can reach the lake via the stream or over the sand dune.
On the way to Te Henga, I drove through Arataki visitor information centre which is the gateway to the Waitakere ranges regional park. You can see it at the end of video.
