Exploring Metung on the Gippsland Lakes Australia
Please watch: Chiang Mai Bus Station tour
--~--
Metung is a town in East Gippsland region of Victoria, Australia. The town is 314 kilometres east of the state capital Melbourne and between the larger towns of Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance
We visited Metung on a beautiful sunny winters day. Days like this are not uncommon in Metung or the lakes region. Metung is one those sleepy villages on the waterfront. We had a feed of fish and chips on the waterfront before enjoying a drink at the local pub. The seafood in Metung was fresh and delicious.
Metung is a place to relax and unwind, to get away from it all. The town centre has a few essential shops such as a supermarket and chemist. You will find cafes and a handful of speciality stores. One can not forget the Metung pub that sits right on the water's edge. Have a meal or drink while watching the boats pass by. It's an amazing place to sit and enjoy a sunny day.
Metung is a popular destination for city travellers. There are a number of luxury escapes nestled in the hill that rise up from the shores of the Gippsland Lakes.
Metung is popular for yachting, fishing and all types of boating activities. Visit Metung today.

A day in Lakes Entrance, East Gippsland, Victoria
Lakes Entrance was a place we used to go for family holidays when I was a kid. A short drive from where we were staying in Bairnsdale our first stop was the Lakes Entrance Tourist Centre.
From here we drove on to Eastern Beach however no dogs allowed so was a short visit. We bought some prawns off the back of a boat, and then found the Fish Co-Op/ Shop and bought some gummy shark for dinner.
We had lunch at a cafe, ice- cream from the mini golf centre, and strolled across the bridge. On the way back to Bairnsdale we stopped at the lookout and took some photos.

Buchan Cave Tour - Lakes Entrance, VICTORIA, Australia
Hi Friends this is a short video to showcase the beauty of Buchan Cave in Lakes Entrance, VICTORIA, Australia.
I have to admit this video does not quite justify the experience and beauty that Buchan Cave has to offer. One of the best parts about touring the cave apart from the amazing scenery is having a friendly Tour Guide with good humour to explain interesting facts and history about this cave.
I hope you friends enjoyed watching this video

Lakes Entrance & Buchan Caves - My Adventure Diary
It's not very often for us to go on a morning stroll, but with such a view in front of our accommodation, we couldn't help it. After brunch, we visited the Sunday market at Lakes Entrance before going to the bridge at Nowa Nowa. Finally, we went to the Buchan caves, namely, the Royal cave and the Fairy cave.
If you guys were wondering, the baby animal being fed was a baby wombat :)

Lakes Entrance is situated between Bairnsdale and Orbost at a man-made channel that links Bass Strait and the Tasman Sea with the 400 square kilometre network of inland waterways known as the Gippsland Lakes. The entrance was first negotiated by a ship in 1858 and soon vessels were regularly entering the lakes. A township, known as Cunninghame after a pioneer Gippsland squatter, was surveyed near Lake Bunga in 1866. A number of lookouts provide panoramic views over Lakes Entrance and the surrounding waterways, with most located on or near the Princes Highway, just west of the town in the neighbouring community of Kalimna. However, for one of the best views of the area, a drive along the appropriately named Seaview Parade rewards visitors with unparalleled views over the town centre, marinas, Cunninghame Arm and down to the Ninety Mile Beach.
IS THIS BETTER THAN THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD? | Places to Visit in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Hello! Okay, so these footages are taken when I went to visit my bf when he was during a week of placement at a rural town, Tralagon. So, we decided to take the chance to travel around the area. These places are really not too far from Melbourne city, about 1-2 hours drive away. And I personally love Inverloch. If you don't wanna drive like 4-5 hours to Great Ocean Road, this could be a good alternative. This could actually be a better alternative since its not crowded with tourists and all.
1. Lakes Entrance: Surf beach and TO THE ENTRANCE WALK
You have to walk through the trail, starting at the end of the bridge from the town centre (See video for more info) Tbh, that was like one of the best places I visited.
2. Nyerimilang - Heritage Park: This park is for the aboriginals. The drive there was quite shady, but follow the GPS and you will get there lol. It looks amazing and you can see the golden beach from there.
3. South Gippsland- Toora Wind Farm: This is just a very nice place to take a picture. (Refer to my thumbnail) Gives you the holland-y feels :D
4. Inverloch- Shack bay, eagles nest and the oaks: GUYS THIS IS DAMN NICE HAHA its like replacement for 12 apostles and all. And so much nearer.
Bonus: Dinner place at O'Neils. Since you are around the region, just pop by this restaurant. Although not the cheapest but the food is WEW. YUM!
That's all. If you loved this, like, comment, subscribe?:P

The Entrance is a district centre and town of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. At the 2011 census, The Entrance had a population of 3,873 people.
The town occupies an area of land that is bounded by water on three sides. The Entrance gains its name from the channel that runs along much of its northern border that is the entrance to Tuggerah Lakes. The Entrance has been a popular holiday destination since the first guest house was established there in 1885.
As a beloved holiday playground of two cities the town continues to grow with new tourist accommodation, including the Pullman Hotel at North Entrance, the redevelopment of residential areas, and the enhancement of recreational facilities. The district's main tourist attractions are its beaches, lake and town centre. It is also suitably located for day trips to the Hunter Valley vineyards
