Baileys Harbor, Door County
Nestled in the heart of Door County, we are often referred to as the secret the locals try to keep under wraps. With some of the best sunrises to start your day with, pristine beaches and some of the best chefs around, it’s no wonder locals like to call it home.
We invite you to join us to see what all the hype is about.
Wake up to the best sunrise views in Door County. Build a sand castle on our sandy beaches or curl up with a good book and listen to waves crash on the shore. After a day of exploring, start a bonfire on the beach and look for shooting stars.
Looking for adventure? Why not book a tour exploring lighthouses and shipwrecks in glass bottom kayaks? Imagine pulling a giant salmon or trout from crystal clear waters on one of our excellent charter boats. Try not to scream as you skim through the tree tops on a sky high zip line tour. Nothing beats the relaxation of hiking through over 6,000 acres of public forests and fields including The Ridges Sanctuary with winding trails through evergreen forests and brand new Nature Center.
Need a little down time? Spend your afternoon sampling local craft beers or wines made right here in Baileys Harbor. Our restaurants range from coffee shops or burger joints to fine dining with a glass of wine and picturesque views of our harbor.
Stroll along the streets of downtown and check out many independently owned shops looking for that perfect gift or souvenir.
Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, we are the perfect place for those seeking adventure without the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic. Because of our central location, our many lodging options provide very convenient places to base your vacation around.

Door County Shipwrecks - The Boaz
Check out doorcountyadventurerafting.com for more info!
The shipwreck of the Boaz is located next to Marshall's Point in North Bay about 4 miles north of Baileys Harbor, WI. The ship was originally built in Sheboygan, WI in 1869. In 1900 she was caught in a storm and began taking on water. The crew were rescued by a passing ship which towed the boat into North Bay and ran it into the ground. Anything worth salvaging was later removed including the cargo of lumber.
Today, the two centerboard trunks remain the dominant features of the wreck which are encircled by the wooden beams of the ship's siding. The wreck is slowly being filled in with sand and in the summer weeds surround the area of the wreck. Zebra mussels cover most of the wreck and being in only 7-8 feet of water it makes a great beginner shipwreck for snorkeling. The only problem is getting there since Marshall's Point is a gated community. Door County Adventure Rafting can get you there on our Lakeside Shipwreck and Lighthouse Tour and it's possible to see the wreck without even getting in the water.

Door County On The Water: Kayaking
The 300 plus miles of shoreline in Door County truly are a kayakers dream come true. The shape of the peninsula means that there is rarely a day where you would not be able to find a place with good conditions for kayaking. On the eastern shores, the lakeside, you can see stunning sunrises and explore the wilder waters of Lake Michigan. On the western shores, you will find calmer and warmer waves accompanied by sunsets. There's dunes, rocky bluffs, sandy beaches, shipwrecks, islands, inland lakes, creeks and streams and estuaries. There is simply endless ways to experience Door County via kayak.
