Top 5 Beaches in Niagara
Crystal Beach
It goes without saying; Crystal Beach is a Niagara institution. A summer is incomplete without a stop at Niagara's most famous shore, and with the bustle of happy crowds there is nothing sweeter than soaking up some sun on this incredible waterfront. The natural beauty is spectacular, the history is rich and the local flavour is one of a kind.
Nickel Beach
A mile of white sand is the picturesque landscape at Nickel Beach in Port Colborne. Water sports are the name of the game at this beautiful beach where volleyball nets are a mainstay and wind-surfing is the activity of choice. Enjoy the active lifestyle or soak up some rays on the fine and soft sand; this is happening place on a sunny summer afternoon!
Lakeside Park
Port Dalhousie is amongst Niagara's most notable locations with a rich history full of water-side tradition and a carousel that still charges only a nickel for each ride. The Port Dalhousie beach is a sandy escape where walking the edge with an ice cream cone remains a St. Catharines resident must in the summer months. You can also cruise the pier, check out what is happening at the Henley (rowers on the water to take in sport perhaps!) and indulge in some libations on one of the many outdoor patios!
Long Beach
Campsites available, this is a beach that you can spend a weekend enjoying! Visitors enjoy the pebble and sand beach where the outdoor activities include swimming, sailing, boating, fishing, sailboarding, jet-ski-ing, sunbathing and more! Stroll the shoreline, sit back amongst the trees for a shady escape or simply time your evening right to take in the breath-taking sunset. This is a beach not to be missed!
Fifty Point Beach
Winona is home to this 80 hectare spanse of beachy bliss that is reported to have the warmest water that Lake Ontario has to offer. Go for a swim, pack a picnic or take a scenic stroll, Fifty Point is all of that and more! If your idea of a day outdoors is on the open water, there is a double boat launch and beautiful marina to avail of. Fifty Point Beach really does have it all!
Beach covered by Snow - St.Catharines
A picturesque beach on the south shore of Lake Ontario. From the lakeside beach, you can see the Port Dalhousie harbor and lighthouse.
We visited the beach park on March 9th, 2019. That`s the reason it is covered in snow.

Area around Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie
Just a shot of the area near Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie. I'm just heading down the hill of what I think is Main street, and then back up towards Lock St. again.
THE BEACHES AT PORT (St. Catharines)
Beaches at Port: Luxury in a 19th century maritime village.
Beaches at Port. There's nothing else like it. Modern day luxury is attentively blended within historic surroundings. And it's not just close to the beach, it's actually on the beach at the quiet end of Lakeside Park in historic Port Dalhousie, one of Ontario's largest heritage districts.
The Building: Though the structure is composed of 16-units on six floors, anyone approaching from the street would never know it. Built into a sloped embankment, the street height matches that of other single family homes in the area in conscious respect of heritage values. Surrounded by mature trees and new landscaping, nature is literally at the doorstep. Particular attention has been paid to safety with emergency vehicle access and fully sprinklered floors.
The Neighbourhood: The village of Port Dalhousie started right here, on the beach as a fishing village and as the terminus for the first Welland Canal in built in 1821. Many of the homes are over a hundred years old. And though the village was dominated by industry, almost all of those remaining buildings have been converted into residential housing.
Transportation: Underground parking is offered to tenants, and though there is ample on-street parking, guest may park in the guest lot at the street level and walk a few steps across a bridge over a landscaped ravine to enter your building. For those who wish to take public transportation, the nearest bus stop is only one block away. Restaurant and retail shops are within walking distance and all amenities are within easy driving distance. Plazas and shopping malls, medical offices and our new state-of-the-art hospital are only minutes away as is access to the QEW.
The Views: Beaches of Port offers a choice of water views including sunrise and/or sunset panoramas. East facing units look out across the park, while those facing north offer the expanse of the lake and its distant shores. The skyline of Toronto is visible to all on most days. Set up your tripod for some fascinating time-lapse video.
Recreation: Almost an island, the old village is surrounded by water on three sides. Martindale Pond and the world famous Henley Rowing Course is to the south and was formed as a result of the creation of the Welland Canal. The waters from Twelve Mile Creek flow from the pond, into the harbour and then into Lake Ontario. Sail boats dock at either the Dalhousie Yacht Club or the Port Dalhousie Marina. Recreational rowing, kayaking and canoeing are also watersport options. Fishing from the piers or on the ice in the pond is another pursuit within steps of your domicile.
Walkability: It's easy to meet your neighbours. Just go for a walk through the old town with an option to extend it into the newer subdivisions toward the west. Benches are easily found in parkettes and overlooking the lake. The options are many whether out for a stroll or an invigorating walk. The pier at the opposite end of Lakeside Park is a kilometer long. The harbour walkway from pier to pier can be challenged on foot or enjoyed by bike. The same is said for a trip through nearby Rennie Park and over the walkway bridge to the expansive Ontario Gardens Park. Wherever you may venture, bring your camera because you never know what nature will reveal.
