Thousands of devotees thronged the temple of Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi at Visakhapatnam to offer prayers for the auspicious Margasira Masam. The annual festival in the Devasthanam is Margasiramasa Mahothsavam, which is one month festival. The number of devotees during this month exceeds the number of devotees that worship the goddess in the remaining eleven months. There remained a huge congregation of devotees/pilgrims coming not only from different parts of the state and also from neighbouring states during the month.
