VL64-VL04, VL23-VL12, S317-S312, VL25-VL14, VL78-VL08 - Yelta Line
V/Line are running services from Melbourne to Ballarat and return every second day over the next three weeks, starting Monday 11/11/19. At least, that's what I've heard. I am led to believe these are empty trains so I have no idea why they are doing two per day (Two up - Ballarat to Melbourne) and two down - Melbourne to Ballarat) but on day 1, I decided I would make it my mission to see them all.
00:02 - VL64-VL04 is seen heading an up service and passing the beautiful old bluestone building that was the former Bannockburn Railway Station, but is now utilised as a cafe.
00:24 - VL23-VL12 -s seen on a down service passing the now unused, but still beautiful old bluestone Lal Lal Railway Station.
01:01 - S317(Sir John Monash)-S312(Peter Lalor) are seen on a down service passing under a beautiful old bluestone road bridge, bound for Ballarat and then, I think, to Murtoa. I am actually surprised at this footage. I'd set the camera up in a safe place and put it on zoom to be able to capture the train coming through the bridge, but the angle makes it look like I was close to the tracks, which I was not. I have too much respect for the drivers to place myself or them at risk.
01:52 - VL25-VL14 are seen on an up service approaching the former Bannockburn Railway Station.
02:57 - VL78-VL08 is seen on a down service passing the former Bannockburn Railway Station. This is the final service of the day on the raraely utilised BG (Broad Gauge) Yelta line.

Australian Trains Audio: SRV Ballarat-Lal Lal shuttles 2015
This is the second audio collection project I've compiled for my channel. This one features some of the Ballarat-Lal Lal shuttles operated by Steamrail Victoria using steam locomotives K153 and Y112. The engines put on an excellent sound show and because the main video I edited of these trips have trimmed clips for time purposes that the sounds recorded deserved their own production. I hope you enjoy them.

Australian Steam Trains - D3 639 and Y112 gallop past Lal Lal Station.
Over the weekend of Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th April 2011 veteran steam locomotives D3 639 and Y112 operated push-pull shuttles between Geelong Station and Corio for the public. Y112 was transferred down on the Saturday morning light engine and on the Sunday evening the 'D3' joined forces with the 'Y' and ran to Ballarat via North Geelong on the original Ballarat right of way due to being used 2 weeks later on the Ballarat Heritage Festival Shuttles. Here you see the D3 and Y double heading with the Steamrail Victoria coal wagon 'VOAF 9' as the two locos gallop through Lal Lal Station.

V/Line passenger trains on Bungaree Loop (Ballarat line); soon to be closed
In this video we see various V/Line Vlocity trains on Bungaree Loop, a soon to be decommissioned section of the Ballarat line located west of Melbourne. Bungaree Loop passes through the small towns of Wallace and Bungaree in the Victorian high country. Its primarily an agricultural area so we see some tractors working the fields, some sheep and cows.
Bungaree Loop originally opened in 1879 as a branch line from Ballarat to Gordon. In 1889 it formed part of the original alignment of the Melbourne - Ballarat line. However it was a fairly indirect alignment, chosen to utilise flatter terrain instead of building a direct alignment through the area which would have involved building sizeable bridges over the Moorabool River and Lal Lal Creek.
As part of the Regional Fast Rail project the new direct alignment was constructed through the the town of Millbrook. Known as the Bungaree Deviation, the new line opened in 2005 and allowed for travel time savings of around 5 minutes for trains between Melbourne and Ballarat. Together Bungaree Loop and the new deviation effectively function as one big crossing loop, allowing trains to pass one another while on the move.
However as part of the $517 million Ballarat line upgrade project a new crossing loop is being constructed on the deviation (known as the Millbrook loop). When completed Bungaree Loop will be made redundant and close down permanently. The new crossing loop is almost completed and will be commissioned in the coming months.
Apologies for the clicking noises in the audio caused by the camerawork. This is one of those videos that I would have preferred to film with the newer camera, but it's still out being repaired and I don't think I'll get another chance to film this video after I get it back.
