Trillium Forge: Museum Visit, Lambton Heritage Museum
Hi there,
I've had to take a bit of a break from blacksmithing due to a pair of sprained fingers, so I'm doing something a bit different this time. I've wanted to do a few videos of blacksmithing and ironwork from museums here in Ontario. This past September, I visited the Lambton Heritage Museum in Grand Bend, ON. The museum has several historic and reproduction buildings behind the main gallery building, including the Ravenswood Blacksmith shop. The village is an open air museum, as opposed to a living history museum, so there were no interpreters animating the buildings. The shop has an interesting collection of tools from different time periods, but is mostly representing the late 1800s to early 1900s. Some of the other buildings on site also contain a large collection of traditional tools, mostly forged, that came from on of the museum's founding donors.
If you're in Grand Bend, go visit the museum!
I'm hoping to get back to making videos at the forge once my hand heals, and I have a lot that I need to make coming up to an event I'm doing in December. I also have some big plans for my all around web-related stuff, so hopefully I can have the up soon too.
Thanks for watching!

Grand Bend Harlem Shake - Live From Cocos Grand Bend
Not sure I'd want to do the Harlem Shake in a restaurant kitchen... just on the off chance the chef might let fly with a meat clever or something. But then if everyone thought like me we probably wouldn't have this video. Here's to the kitchen staff at Cocos Grand Bend who got together and let it shake!
