Landing a launch boat on the beach of Agrigan Island, Northern Marianas
My climbing friends and I spent a considerable amount of time on Agrigan Island (also spelled Agrihan) in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). This was in preparation for a first ascent to its 965 metre (3,166 feet) summit.
Agrigan is uninhabited and rather remote - located about 400 kilometres (250 miles) north of Saipan. There's almost no water on Agrigan and, of course, almost no other supplies as well.
This is a recording of the numerous launch boat runs between our beach camp and the M/V Super Emerald anchored offshore.
The Mariana Islands are part of Micronesia, which is a subregion of Oceania.

Complete flight over the Saipan Channel from Saipan to Tinian, CNMI
The island of Tinian is located about 5 nautical miles (9.3 kilometres southwest of the island of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). The two islands are separated by the Saipan Channel. Which was quickly negotiated by this Star Mariana Air, Inc. Piper Cherokee Six commercial aircraft. The flight started at the Saipan International Ariport and ended at the Tinian International Airport. I believe the round-trip airfare was $79 at the time of this recording, for locals, and an additional $20 for tourists.
The Piper Cherokee Six was a series of single-engine fixed landing gear light aircraft manufactured by Piper Aircraft between 1965 and 2007.
The Mariana Islands are part of Micronesia, which is a subregion of Oceania.

Because of the great view from the highway lookout, Bird Island is a very popular destination for tourists to Saipan. There's also an area to to hike and snorkle along the shoreline but be sure to respect the posted rules as the area is a marine sanctuary.
