Elaine was gracious enough to give DigElog ROCORI to record her presentation to the Cold Spring Area Historical Society about her new book in 2007, which chronicles Stearns Countys involvement in producing moonshine during the prohibition era. Stay tuned to DigElog ROCORI for the final installment of this fascinating story.

In this sermon I simply read the totality of John 3. Strangely enough this managed to draw more ire from two people than any other sermon I have ever preached in Lanesboro . Watch as I reach the portion of the text of John 3 where Jesus states that evil people hate the light and see what happens, not once, but twice. It was amazing to experience. I do not say this in a light-hearted way, it truly grieves me to see how much people hate the Gospel.
Lanesboro the Town for Me - Larry Long & American Roots Revue
Founded in 1869, Lanesboro, Minnesota in Fillmore County is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year! In May, singer-songwriter Larry Long partnered with residents through Lanesboro Arts to write Lanesboro the Town for Me, a song that honors the culture, history, and people of the Lanesboro area. The song was brought to life on stage at the St. Mane Theatre by Larry and American Roots Revue in a jubilant and uplifting performance that was captured on video by Treedome Productions. Lanesboro The Town For Me
One hundred fifty years ago
Immigrants by the wagonload
Eased themselves
down that steep grade
Which still takes my breath away
Lanesboro, Lanesboro, Lanesboro
Lanesboro the town for me
Tucked within those driftless hills
On sacred ground we’re living still
Beside that South Branch waterfall
We hear that Root River call
Lanesboro, Lanesboro, Lanesboro
Lanesboro the town for me
To laugh and smile on down the street
Greeted by everyone you meet
Winding down that country road
To a place home sweet home
Lanesboro, Lanesboro, Lanesboro
Lanesboro the town for me
Where I can fish when I want to
Back when that train came through
Put them pennies on them tracks
Once you’ve been here you will come back
Lanesboro, Lanesboro, Lanesboro
Lanesboro the town for me
Rails to trails, hike and bike
Dancing beneath the moonlight
Farmers working in the field
At the break of day time stands still
Lanesboro, Lanesboro, Lanesboro
Lanesboro the town for me
Where Buffalo Bill got his start
Where beauty fills the streets with art
When that noon whistle blows
I hear the past it calls us home
Lanesboro, Lanesboro, Lanesboro
Lanesboro the town for me

Root River at Lanesboro, MN- Whitewater Canoeing Sep. 24, 2010
S.E. MN recieved 8-10 of rain on Sep. 23rd, 2010......it made for some REALLY gnarly water on the little Root River near Lanesboro. Everybody else was worried about the flood.....we thought it be a great day to go paddling! So we grabbed the cameras, a couple whitewater canoes and headed to the river.
The local police showed up at the put in and highly suggested we find a different afternoon activity....but let us go without to much fuss. We made it from Lanesboro to the HWY 16 take out in 17 minutes (normally a 3 hr tube ride).

Lanesboro Minnesota: Third Open Air August 25th, 2018: Meeting the Young Man That Mocked
Just prior to starting the camera I read the entirety of Isaiah 53. I then go on to begin to explain the significance of the text. As I am preaching the young man who mocked me by pretending to worship me approaches and we have an excellent conversation. Please pray for him.
For you naysayers who believe that open air preaching is waste of time and accomplishes nothing, I will say again that you have no idea what you are saying. This interaction alone is well worth all of the trips and hours I have spent preaching in Lanesboro...
