Here is a little gem I've found, for music box lovers. I put all seven little tunes into one video, including the wind up noise at the start. This seems to be a souvenir record from the Langley Centennial Museum @ Fort Langley, British Columbia, Canada.

BRITANNIA MINE MUSEUM, NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE, B.C, CANADA. SEP 2015
National historic site:
The museum is the site of Mill 3, also called the Concentrator. This 20 storey building, a gravity fed concentrator for ore processing, was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1987 (with a ceremony in 1988). The Britannia Mine was an important source of copper ore for almost 70 years and during the 1920s and 1930s it constituted one of the largest mining operations in Canada. The gravity-fed concentrator was highly innovative, as, for example, in the use of bulk froth flotation.
History:
The Britannia Beach Historical Society was established in 1971 as part of BC’s centennial plans.[3] Its goal was to preserve the history of mining activities in British Columbia. The museum opened in 1975 as the BC Museum of Mining. Mill 3 underwent a $5 million exterior rehabilitation between 2005 to 2007 to replace siding, roof and windows.
After an additional $14.7 million redevelopment project, the museum was renamed the Britannia Mine Museum in October 2010. There are displays concerning the importance of minerals in our daily lives, and on the history of the Britannia Mine, including its environmental remediation. The funding for this, the Britannia Project, came from government, industry donors and individuals.
Buildings and site:
The museum oversees 23 historic industrial, administrative and domestic buildings, over 7000 artifacts, 9500 archive photos and 3000 archival documents and maps. Visitors are given a train ride through an historic haulage tunnel, driven in 1914 to transport ore from the original mill buildings to the shore. Historic mining and lighting equipment is demonstrated to the visitor. The historic nature of the site has resulted in many feature films and TV productions being filmed there, most notably Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed and The X-Files.
O CANADA young singer at CANADA DAY CELEBRATION in Langley, BC on 2011, Glisha Dela Cruz
For the 3rd straight year, Glisha Dela Cruz led the singing of national anthem O CANADA at the Langley Canada Celebration held at Fort Langley.
A teen singer for charities who after taking singing lessons shares her talent for good causes and charitable foundation like the Imagine One day Foundation for kids of Ethiopia, Social diversity for children foundation and The beautiful project which promotes awareness for Alopecia Areata. Glisha Dela Cruz is a Canadian singer who is passionate about teen music.
Music is everywhere, but for her, music is everything.
With a mesmerizing voice and extraordinary passion for music, Glisha Dela Cruz, a young local artist from Surrey proved that age will never be a limit in taking the journey in the music industry.
As early as eight years old, Glisha had been chosen to sing the national anthem, O’ Canada, in Fort Langley Canada Day celebration in 2009. The coordinators had been so impressed by her singing that they invited her to sing for each Canada Day celebration thereafter. This year marks her 9th year singing for the event, and she looks forward to next year which will mark her 10th year with them.
Her performance at Fort Langley Canada Day opened opportunities for Glisha to be invited in various shows, events, and concerts in British Columbia and other cities. By the age of 16, she already performed in Cranberry Festival in Fort Langley, the Surrey International World Music Marathon 1 & 2, the B.C. Summer Games Opening Ceremony, Chinese International Festival, and Richmond Summer Night Market. (excerpts from an article at
SHMC - Sikhs in Canada - Timeline
Through research by the Sikh Heritage Museum of Canada, this ground breaking timeline exhibit with original artifacts features new facts about the link between Canada and Sikhs dating all the way back to 1809 when the Governor General of the Province of Canada from 1843-1845, Charles Metcalfe (1st Baron Metcalfe) was serving as a Civil Servant for the British East India Company. In 1808 he was selected by Lord Minto for the responsible post of envoy to the court of Ranjit Singh at Lahore; here, on 25 April 1809, he concluded the important treaty securing the independence of the Sikh states between the Sutlej and the Jumna.
Sikhs have had a long history with and in Canada. From being residents for over 125 years since 1888, to having the first Prime Minister of Canada, Sir John A. Macdonald just after the BNA act, calling for an “army of Sikhs” in 1867.
The first wave of Sikh settlers arrived in Canada in the early 1900’s. By 1908, the first Sikh Gurdwara (Place of Worship) was established in Vancouver. The Komagata Maru incident of 1914 still remains a very important historical anecdote in Canadian history as this was the first time Canada turned away migrants. Sikh pioneers played an important role in Canada’s nation building, from working in the lumber mills, to logging, forestry and farming, they toiled the vast land of Canada. Sikh pioneers also worked on the railway and although not given equal rights as Canadian citizens, they also served for Canada in WWI.
Sikhs arrived in Ontario around 1911 and Dr. Sundar Singh spoke at the Empire and Canada Club’s. Sikhs secured their Canadian right to vote and full citizenship in 1947. Today, Sikhs in Canada are leaders in many fields & professions including education, law, social justice, banking, medicine, athletics, arts, entertainment, military and policing. Sikhs have been active in the political life of Canada, from being City Councillors, MLA’s & MPP’s, MP’s, Premier and Ministers of State.
Recently in 2014, Canada commemorated the Legacy of the Komagata Maru through Canada post in issuing a stamp.
