Troon - Scotland
Troon is a town in South Ayrshire, Scotland. It is situated on the west coast, about eight miles north of Ayr and three miles northwest of Glasgow Prestwick International Airport. Lying across the Firth of Clyde, the Isle of Arran can be seen
The name 'Troon' is derived from the Gaelic An t-Sron, meaning 'The Nose' or 'The bill' and a look at a map shows how it got this name. This could equally, however, have derived from Old Welsh. In various deeds, the spelling is given as Trune, Trone, Truyn, and Trwyn.
Troon Harbour played a notable part in the development of the town for many years. It was home to the Ailsa Shipbuilding Company, which constructed many vessels for worldwide customers but mainly small passenger and various merchant vessels. The fishing fleet from Ayr moved to Troon Harbour and a revitalisation of the abandoned section of the harbour started. An approach road was constructed to connect to a P&O terminal which operates a service to Ireland.
Troon Harbour is now a fishing port, yachting marina, seasonal passenger ferry port and Ro-Ro ferry terminal for timber and containers. The shipbuilding industry at Troon Harbour ended in 2000
Barshaw Park, Paisley, Scotland Drone
Taking the dog and drone out for a walk, that was fun.. Barshaw park first thing this morning just joggers and dog walkers out.
Which was perfect timing to fly about using the drone and capture things from the old railway, Barshaw Golf Club, the big pond newly refurbished, new kids park and then a fly to the peace gardens. Thanks to Paisley Buddie for this great view of one of the largest parks in Paisley.

Family Quits City Life to Live Off-Grid in a Giant Yurt
Lucy is living off-grid with her family, in a yurt, in New Zealand, while unschooling their kids, running a farm, and freelancing as a digital nomad.
Here are all the places you can follow her adventure online via Lulastic Hippyshake:

eBOOKS:
I first discovered Lucy's awesome blog and YouTube channel while I was searching for information about how to stop using shampoo; and I ended up buying her awesome eBook about it (link below if you want to go no-poo too!), and I haven't used shampoo in a year and a half.
Happy Hair eBook:
I loved her videos about living off-grid in a New Zealand yurt, and still watch all of her parenting videos even though we don't have kids ourselves. We highly recommend checking out her videos!
The family quit their jobs, sold their home, and sold most of their belongings, and left London to go live off-grid in a tiny house a.k.a. a yurt in New Zealand.
They earn an income through Lucy's freelance writing work, and by renting their smaller yurt on Airbnb, and they also plan to earn an income from their farm once they've had more time to get it up and running.
Lucy and Tim currently unschool their two children, which is a an educational method and philosophy that advocates learner-chosen activities as a primary means for learning.

Wood Green, London.
An object which looks like a large boiler or distilling barrel appears on screen. A man wheels a trolley with a basin on and places it under the strange barrel. He opens a tap at the bottom and a glue-like liquid starts pouring into the basin. After the basin is filled, he closes the tap and wheels the basin next to a long working table. He pours the liquid across the table helped by another man.
This is a sweet factory in Wood Green where London Rock is made. Glue-like liquid is toffee of which the London Rock is made - a mixture of glucose and cane sugar boiled in the strange barrel at 260 degrees Fahrenheit.
A man pours a colouring into the toffee and starts mixing it slowly. C/U shot of the man's hand mixing colour into toffee. M/S of the two men making letters. The man wearing glasses is Mr Jerry Toll who has made the rock for 38 years. He and another man (young, possibly apprentice) are mixing strips of red and white toffee into rolls, each containing an individual letter. Rolls with individual letters are then placed into a large roll (a huge one) which, when stretched and cut, becomes London rock.
Three men are lifting a huge roll to chain it on one side so they can hang it to stretch. After the roll is stretched, hand rolling takes place. Rolling has to be done very fast since it takes an hour for the toffee mixture to become too hard to handle. Succession of shots showing how huge thick roll is stretched and rolled into thin strips of London Rock. Rock is then measured and cut (with large scissors) into strips seven inches long ready for packaging.
Film ends with a great C/U shot of a pile of circles, each reading 'London Rock'. No wonder they are famous!
BRITISH PATHÉ'S STORY
Before television, people came to movie theatres to watch the news. British Pathé was at the forefront of cinematic journalism, blending information with entertainment to popular effect. Over the course of a century, it documented everything from major armed conflicts and seismic political crises to the curious hobbies and eccentric lives of ordinary people. If it happened, British Pathé filmed it.
British Pathé also represents the Reuters historical collection, which includes more than 136,000 items from the news agencies Gaumont Graphic (1910-1932), Empire News Bulletin (1926-1930), British Paramount (1931-1957), and Gaumont British (1934-1959), as well as Visnews content from 1957 to the end of 1984. All footage can be viewed on the British Pathé website.
