Located in the San Francisco Bay area in southeastern Sonoma County is the Valley considered the birthplace of the California wine industry. The Sonoma Valley runs from Santa Rosa in the north to the San Pablo Bay in the south. Formed between the Mayacamas Mountains and Sonoma Mountains, Sonoma Valley was home to the earliest California Vineyards which survived both the phylloxera epidemic of the 1870s and the effects of 20th century prohibition.
Today along with being the home to over 100 wineries, The Valley plays host to events year-round. Along with historic wineries Sonoma Valley encompasses many other historic sites including the Jack London State Historic Park which preserves the land that Jack London called home. Visiting the Sonoma Valley includes hot springs resorts, historical buildings, and the history of the settlement of California by the missionaries.
The vineyards of the Sonoma Valley are as varied as the tastes of its wine. Award winning wines from Sonoma are made in wineries that include castles, Mediterranean influenced villas, garden chateaus and modern lounges. Grand estates, quaint wine cellars and subterranean caves are all a part of the winery tour experience in Sonoma Valley.
A proper tour of the Sonoma Valley begins on the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley. Whether you are a seasoned wine enthusiast, a novice, a sommelier or a history buff the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley offers an informative overview of the valley during a fun, friendly, relaxing, care free day.
The Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley is a six-hour adventure aboard a replica California cable car. Your hand-built cable car is based on the original blueprints from the San Francisco cable cars that were in operation from the 1890s through the 1930s. It is an all wooden carriage detailed right down to the brass bell. The modern conveniences of the day have been added including a state-of-the-art sound system and PA, along with connections for iPod and iPhone. The Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley is an open-air cable car that lets you experience a panoramic view as you visit four of the world class wineries of The Valley.
Your conductor on the guided Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley will explain the history, legacies, and folklore as you travel the green valley from vineyard to vineyard. The Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley is a group friendly event that encourages making new friends along the way.
The day on the Wine Trolley includes a catered picnic lunch prepared by the Girl & the Fig Restaurant, noted for their country French cuisine, a visit to four selected wineries for a taste of the treasures of Sonoma and a day of knowledgeable adventure. The Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley departs from Sonoma Plaza at 10:30 AM and returns at 4:30 PM. You must be 21 years old to purchase a ticket for the exclusive wine tasting adventures aboard the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley.
Along with the historical education, laughs and priceless views the Trolley tour visits four wineries. Winery visits on the tour vary because of seasonal and special events happening on certain days, the tour will always include a visit to four premium wineries for a semi-private tasting. Winery tasting fees are separate, ranging from $20-$30 per vineyard.
Wineries are selected for daily tours from the list of twelve regularly visited by the tour conductors of the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley. The selected wineries are chosen to provide visitors with a general overview of the Sonoma Valley Wine experience. Each of the chosen wineries offer a unique vineyard property and premium vintages. The list includes:
Ravenswood Winery - Buena Vista Winery - Imagery Winery - Mayo Family Winery - Madrone Estate Winery - Paradise Ridge - Larson Winery - Gloria Ferrar – Jacuzzi - Valley of The Moon - VJB Winery - BR Cohen

Josh Cellars the offical story about the name of the Winery
In 2009, New York Times writer, Eric Asimov, proclaimed Joseph Carr, a producer to watch for, and put his wines alongside the likes of Far Niente, Clos du Val, Heitz, Grgich Hills and Rubicon. Mr. Asimov continues to comment, that these are “wines of balance and restraint”.
For centuries, the Négociant has produced some of the world’s finest wines: Louis Jadot, Joseph Drouhin and Georges Duboeuf, to name just a few. Joseph Carr works with small estate growers, coopers and winemakers, not unlike a classic négociant, to produce handcrafted boutique wines. After 10 years, serving as a world-class sommelier, then another ten as an international industry executive, Mr. Carr set out on his own in 2005, to form his family-owned wine company. It was, as Mr. Carr says “a chance to follow a dream.” As director of Joseph Carr Napa Valley, Joseph continues to work with many of the associates he has met
throughout his long career; those who share his passion and desire to produce world class wines.
Influenced by the wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy, Joseph Carr’s winemaking philosophy is balance, sophistication and approachability. Mr. Carr, his wife Deirdre, his daughter Cailen, and Max, his dog, own and operate Joseph Carr Wines, producing fine wines from Napa Valley, California, along with limited production
wines from Carneros and the Sonoma Coast. “We have the luxury of working with some of the best growers in Napa Valley and produce all of our wines at Larson Family Vineyards in Carneros” states Mr. Carr. Since launching his business in 2005, Mr. Carr’s wines have been received with great enthusiasm. His wines grace some of the finest restaurant lists in the United States and abroad. Joseph Carr has recently worked with Tom Larson to produce his second label, named “Josh Cellars” -his “vin de garage” -as he jokingly refers to it. It is a North Coast Vineyard project, from sites organically and sustainably farmed. It is dedicated to his father.
Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon is SOLD at Rhythm Kitchen Seafood and Steaks. We sell the Josh Cellars Cabernet only by the Bottle. On Wine Down Wednesdays we sell wine bottles for Half Off all night long!

Welcome to Cornerstone Estate Winery
Jerry and Wanda Kopanski founded their charming, family owned winery in 2002. They consistently produce premium wines using their own fruits. Cornerstone focuses on limited productions, resulting in small batches of VQA wines.
Cornerstone has been the recipient of 10 medals at the International Wine Competition in Finger Lakes, New York, and 2 bronze medals at the Canadian Wine Awards for their 2007 Cabernet Franc-Merlot VQA and their 2008 Strawberry Festival Wine. Not to be missed is their 2005 Fine Port which won Best Value Fortified Wine at the 2008 Toronto Wine and Cheese Show. Also look for their new 2009 Chardonnay Musque, which was hand picked and sorted to perfection.
Jerry Kopanski has a well-established agricultural background. Jerry was born and raised on a farm. He attended the University of Agriculture and graduated as a fruit grower specialist. In addition to the Cornerstone vineyards, they also have an extensive fruit tree farm including peaches, cherries, apples, plums, nectarines and apricots.
In 1999, Jerry ambitiously purchased a fruit farm in Beamsville, Ontario; where he painstakingly converted it into a working vineyard. In 2002, he began turning his farm's grapes into a variety of wines. Jerry's winemaking business quickly progressed and, in 2004, he built a brand new facility to increase wine production; and iIn 2005, Jerry proudly opened his new winery to the public.
Jerry Kopanski is married to his wonderful wife, Wanda. The couple live in the Beamsville Ontario area with their three children, who are all currently studying at Brock University. When you visit Cornerstone, you are likely to meet the friendly owners, who are always pleased to discuss all things wine and guide you through an enjoyable tasting of their fine products.
