During the years 2009-2011 I shot 5 time in Spain.
I shot all the districts of Spain, the first project was to photograph
castles, then I photographed Moorish sites (in Portugal too).
The last interesting and unique expedition was to shoot Jewish
monuments all over Spain.
Castilla Y Leon reign was one of the most fascinating and interesting
regions in Spain.

Large, jagged, red rocks jut up through the green carpeting of the hills in the province of Leon, Spain.
These formations, appearing like the shattered foundations of some monumental ruin of a building, mark the site of Las Medulas.
This amazing part of the world was once an important part of the Romans' gold mining operations.
The method that the Romans used to extract the gold was remarkable; they actually carved through the mountains with water.
By diverting water channels and using massive aqueducts, they forcibly eroded the stone, exposing veins of gold, and then harvested the gold from the water.
The wonder of Las Medulas comes from the rugged beauty of the land, combined with the awe of Roman ingenuity and power.

⛰️???? Las MÉDULAS, el Bierzo, León - Rincones de España para visitar
Las Médulas en León, en la región del Bierzo y cerca de Ponferrada, es uno de los lugares para visitar en España que siempre he querido ver. En este viaje lo hice en furgoneta camper.
Las Médulas parecen unas montañas rojas, pero en realidad son una antigua explotación de oro romana. Los romanos hacían galerías y posteriormente dejaban que entrase el agua llevándose por delante grandes masas de arena para luego sacar de ahí el Oro.
El increíble paisaje que se forma es debido a las columnas de arena que el agua no arrastró. Con el paso del tiempo, se fué repoblando de vegetación. Esto y los tonos rojizos, dan lugar a este maravilloso rincón de España.
Las médulas están llenas de cuevas y galerías de lo que queda de aquella explotación minera. Famosas son la cuevona, la galería de orellán y el mirador de orellán. Pero hay muchas más.
Hay diferentes rutas de senderismo para hacer por las médulas, de distinta distancia y de distinto nivel (aunque a mi todas me parecieron fáciles jejeje).

ACLARACIÓN: No fueron los romanos quienes cavaron las galerías de las médulas, sino sus esclavos... tristemente...

Las Médulas is a historic gold-mining site near the town of Ponferrada in the comarca of El Bierzo (province of León, Castile and León, Spain). It was the most important gold mine, as well as the largest open-pit gold mine, in the entire Roman Empire. Las Médulas Cultural Landscape is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Arrival in Segovia, Castile and Leon - Spain 4K Travel Channel
Before arriving in Segovia we covered another little odyssey. We wanted to drive from San Lorenzo de El Escorial to Segovia, which does not look very far on the map. A taxi-driver told us that we could go by train to the nearby station Villalba de Guadarrama where we can change to a train to Segovia. Before our departure, we asked the friendly receptionist in the Hotel De Martin in Escorial about the departure times of the train and learned that the railway line to Segovia be currently not in operation due to construction. However, can drive with the bus from Villalba to Segovia and she printed us a bus timetable

Vor der Ankunft in Segovia legten wir noch eine kleine Irrfahrt zurück. Wir wollten von San Lorenzo de El Escorial nach Segovia fahren, was auf der Landkarte nicht sehr weit aussieht. Ein Taxifahrer sagte uns, dass wir mit dem Zug zum nahegelegenen Bahnhof Villalba de Guadarrama fahren könnten und dort in den Zug nach Segovia umsteigen können. Vor unserer Abreise erkundigen wir uns bei der freundlichen Rezeptionistin im Hotel De Martin in Escorial nach den Abfahrtszeiten und erfahren, dass die Bahnstrecke nach Segovia momentan wegen Bauarbeiten außer Betrieb ist. Allerdings könnten wir mit dem Bus von Villalba nach Segovia fahren und druckte uns einen Busfahrplan aus.

Shot 100% in the skies of north eastern Spain, this video highlights the jaw dropping natural beauty of the Spanish countryside, alongside some of the rustic towns and villages common to this area.
We recorded the video over the space of a week long visit to the area; El Rasillo de Cameros, a village located in the south of La Rioja was the village we stayed in.
