Laser Tag
If you comment about a great place you go to play Laser tag somewhere in the world, please tell us where it is. Thanks. This video is from a birthday party at Putters, a family entertainment center in Eugene, Oregon. The Laser Tag arena is one of the best around. They also have pool tables, miniature golf, bowling, video games and really good pizza.

Were all Roman Roads Straight? - Map Mysteries.
#RomanRoad #Roman # History
...and now for something completely different. Yes, no railways in this one at all. Rest assured normal service to resume next week.
We love maps, really really love maps. Whilst searching through some of the old National Library of Scotland Maps we noticed something different about this Roman Road. So we took a wonder along this route and learnt a little of the ancient track-way that was in place perhaps a thousand years before it.
There may be a part two to this if we have time, we seem to have raised more questions here than we asked. With that in mind please note that we are not experts on Roman Roads (Or railways come to that), but we learn as we go and try to enjoy our explorations and ultimately share them with you.
The Book we refer to is: Ancient Trackways of Wessex, Timperley and Brill.

Freightliner's 66564 Stoke Gifford to GCG 20/05/2016
Having captured the Route Learning Test runs last week, I've been back today to capture a Freightliner Train of 22 HXA's which worked in on the 06.18 service from Stoke Gifford.
The train is seen coming on to the Branch at Pantyffynnon some 45 mins early, then hauling up the 1:30 at Red Lion, finally arriving at Tai'rgwaith for the loading Bay.
After loading up the four leading wagons, the train was pulled forward to the Head shunt to allow the loco to run round its train, a movement I've not seen before as this service was usually with MEA's which are much smaller wagons. When all 22 wagons are loaded, then a train of well over 2,000 tonnes will make its way to the CEGB at Aberthaw Power Station in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Why did this Roman Road Bend so much? Map Mysteries
As a brief break from our Railway Videos, we ventured into Wiltshire where we believe is the site that had the least straight Roman road over a short section. We might be wrong, but its quite a deviation.
Anyway, usual disclaimers apply.
1) Sorry for the glare. We had the strongest ND filter on today and it seemed to make matters worse. Back to normal next week.
2) We are not historians as we point out, just have a love for history of transport, routes and connections, this explore very much ticked our boxes.

Freightliner Class 66 66563 seen on the GCG Branch Route Learning 16/05/2016
Having won the contract to move most of the Coal Services in South Wales from DBS, Freightliner have been running Route learning runs from Stoke Gifford in Bristol up to GCG (Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen).in preparation for taking loaded coal wagons to the Washery at Onllwyn.
In this video we first see an ATW Single Car 163303 arriving at the newly restored Pantyffynnon Station with the 05.56 Shrewsbury to Cardiff via the Heart of Wales Line.
We then see 66563 light engine at various points along the GCG Branch from Pantyffynnon right up to the Head Shunt at Tai'r Gwaith..
It's worthy to note that two drivers passed over the road crossing at GCG despite the red warning lights flashing against them!
Flythrough Animation- Skytec Wales Aerial Surveys and Mapping
A peak into an aerial survey and volumetric cut/fill analysis project which we are currently undertaking. This point cloud was generated at medium density/quality. Point cloud animations such as these are primarily used to aid the visualisation of survey areas or for planning application public consultation etc.
We are able to survey and measure almost any terrain with centimeter accuracy. Areas as large as 10km2 can be surveyed in one day.
We combine years of industrial experience along with active University research to bring you levels of accuracy and measurement reliability which very few providers can match.

Freightliner's 66595 Aberthaw ~ Tower Colliery empties at Hirwaun. 01/06/2016.
Just by chance, I saw one of the newly acquired services now operated by Freightliner, leaving Aberdare with the 10.50 Aberthaw Power Station to Tower Colliery empties. A quick dash up the line and I was able to capture the train as it approaches the manually operated road crossing at Hirwaun, a short distance from it's destination at Tower Colliery.
