Katu Funeral

Spent a few minutes observing a Ka Tu funeral.
I am not sure the exact order of events at one of these, they have already killed the buffalo and there were several vietnamese elements I was not expecting to see

Taiwanese Traditional New Year's Dance - Performance 2 of 6

This is a dance performed by the aboriginal Taiwanese people. This performance is at Shi Yi Da Jie in Hualien, Taiwan on Jan 21, 2012 to celebrate Chinese New Year. Performance 2 of 6.

Taiwanese Aboriginal Dance Permformance - Pier 2

I was lucky to head down to Pier 2 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and catch the last day of the 2017 Taiwanese Aboriginal event. I had no idea that it was happening but the music drew me in.

I instantly ran to the front with all the little children and began filming this performance. The children sitting in the front seemed more interested in a foreigner sitting with them and they kept trying to grab at my lip ring. Later on during this performance, another cameraman (TV or event) came in to catch the same angle as me so I apologize for the rather shaky handheld footage.

Overall a fun experience I wish I had known about in advance so I could have filmed a few more performances with a tripod instead of handheld.

台灣環花東333公里6天超馬2016 [Taiwan Hualien~TaiTung 333Km 6Days Ultra Marathon 2016]

這賽事於台東縣池上牧野渡假村起步,
賽程共有6天,每天要在10小時內完成52至63公里,
由台東縣池上鄉步向花蓮縣壽豐鄉,
再沿著東海岸線南下返回台東池上鄉.
旅途中可觀賞花東縱谷山野之美和東海岸壯闊的景色,
穿梭於省道台9線,省道台11線和縣道193線沿途的鄉鎮,在享受奔跑之餘,領略民風淳樸的部落和社區.
大會於大約8-10公里設有補給站,除了提供一般飲食外,還有熱食和熱飲提供,
貼心熱情的志工勞心勞力給予跑者的幫助,
大會亦提供舒適的住宿和豐富的早晚兩餐.
主辦單位確是站在跑者的立場盡力辦好賽事,
感謝台灣極限鐵人協會籌辦這場優質好山好水好玩好風光的超馬賽事

La côte est de Taiwan et le gorge de Taroko à Vélo

Récit d'une semaine de vélo sur la côte est de Taïwan et dans les gorges de Taroko... pour l'article complet c'est par ici :

Taiwan c'est vraiment une île à part... souvent comparée à la Chine de part sa population c'est en fait totalement différent si vous voulez notre avis! A Taiwan les moeurs et les coutumes sont beaucoup plus occidentalisée, les villes sont plus propres et on va l'avouer les gens parlent sacrément mieux anglais, ce qui n'était pas pour nous déplaire.
Nous avons décidé assez spontanément de louer des vélos afin de partir explorer la côte est en longeant la côte en partant de la ville de Hualien.
