Laurie Collins is a large, bearded, overweight lump of a man. He lives in his shed-studio at Jindivick in Gippsland where he has an enormous pile of metal and a sculpture garden. Laurie works full time making quirky and unsual artworks out of recycled metal. He also works in wood, uses rock, and draws from time to time.

There were divisions in the community over the amount of money being spent on public art in the Baw Baw Shire so we went out to hear the wisdom from an expert in the field: Jindivick sculptor and all round great guy, Laurie Collins.
