Lava Centre in Iceland.
Lavacentre in Iceland is the first exhibition center of it's kind in the world. The history of volcano eruption in Iceland with it's lava run along with earthquakes and ash spew into atmosphere, are clearly demonstrated in this Lavacentre walk through exhibition center. Lavacentre is stationed in Hvolsvöllur, south west in Iceland. This video is taken in a short and quick walk through.

Introducing LAVA Centre in Hvolsvöllur, South Iceland
Summer 2017 saw the opening of Iceland's largest earthquake and volcano museum: LAVA Centre, Hvolsvöllur - just an hour's drive from Reykjavik. Impressive interactive displays and exhibits await, including volcano and earthquake simulators, lava corridors and a large rooftop platform with panoramic views towards Eyjafjallajökull, Katla & Hekla volcanoes.

The LAVA Centre, Hvolsvöllur, southern Iceland.
The LAVA Centre attempts to explain the volcanic history of Iceland and is located in Hvolsvöllur, southern Iceland, about 90 minutes (100km) drive east of the capital Reykyavik.
Some interesting interactive displays especially the volcanic eruption room showing the four volcanoes around the centre (I did film this but the graphics seemed to make the camera footage go haywire and flash in odd colours and so I did not include it).
Whilst interesting I must admit I left feeling it was a bit overpriced (£20 or US$26) once I had been through it. This was my first day in Iceland and whilst I expected Iceland to be an expensive place, I thought this was a bit much.
Worth it if the weather is really bad, but there is so much to see for free in Iceland, visit an outdoor location instead. In my opinion, not an essential stop on the ring road.

LAVA Centre: Magma plume beneath Iceland
Powersoft LAVA Centre
The new LAVAcentre, 106km east of Reykjavik, is an interactive, high-tech educational exhibition depicting volcanic activity and earthquakes, and tracing the creation of Iceland over millions of years. The AV equipment itself includes 14 Powersoft amplifiers with onboard DSP providing an economical power station to drive the 72ch of zonal ceiling and surface mount loudspeakers, all in one of the four racks in the centralized technical room. To create the sonic realism of an earthquake required the deployment of the mighty and unique M-Force Magnetic Linear Motor Transducers. Feris’ project designers Jakob Kristinsson and Bergthor Leifsson knew that Powersoft’s sonic #MForce alone would provide the capability of simulating a volcano erupting, with two M-Drive amplifiers powering two 15kW M-Force Moving Magnet Linear Motor transducers to imitate a 3.7 Richter scale earthquake, or bigger. Their purpose is to ‘move’ a floor measuring 150cm by 300cm in both X / Y axes — the first time M-Force has been used for mechanical movement.

Iceland Lava Center - Creation of Iceland!
In the Lava Center they have an interactive exhibit that looks like you are looking down on the Earth. By sliding the hand rail clockwise the Earth progresses in time over 65 million years so you can see the movement of the tectonic plates and the creation of Iceland. Very cool! Review of the Lava Tunnel tour. Raufarholshellir is the fourth-longest lava tube in Iceland. The cave formed as a lava tube during the Leitahraun eruption which occurred about 5.200 years ago. The total length of the tunnel is a massive 1360 meters (4500 feet), the central tunnel being 900 meters (3000 feet) long, Hveragerdi, Iceland 2018. Tour booked via Reykjavik Excursions. Dimmuborgir lava fields, Iceland
Dimmuborgir (dimmu dark, borgir cities (or forts); pronounced [tɪmʏpɔrcɪr]) is a large area of unusually shaped lava fields east of Mývatn in Iceland. The Dimmuborgir area is composed of various caves and rock formations, remnants of volcanic activity that are perhaps reminiscent of an ancient collapsed citadel, with columns spewing plumes of sulfuric smoke. In Icelandic folklore, Dimmuborgir is said to connect earth with the infernal regions.
