Eden - Lawrence Weston 2019
St Peter's Church has a passion and vision to increase our connections with the local community, serving in Christ's name, and working to transform our community by demonstrating His love and bringing His hope.
We're delighted to be developing a partnership with Eden and working to recruit a team to join St Peter's Church and move into Lawrence Weston.

The Community Farm with the Bristol Drugs Project: Trainee Programme
The Community Farm is based in Chew Magna near Bristol, growing organic veg for boxes and using money raised for training and education. In 2014 they teamed up with the Bristol Drugs Project to offer 5 trainee places for people who wanted to retrain as farmers. Nearing the end of the programme two of the trainees agreed to be filmed and talk about their experiences but asked to be kept anonymous as they seek to move on with their lives.

Henry First Cat who made his home at a bus depot
A cat who spent five months sleeping on board vehicles at a Bristol bus depot being fed by drivers is now looking for a new home. Henry from Hengrove or Henry First Cat as he has now been named, was well looked after during the winter at the depot in Roman Farm Road, Hengrove -- so much so that staff began to think he was in fact a pregnant Henrietta. After becoming concerned for his welfare and calling a re-homing centre, staff were told the big black and white was actually a three-year-old male cat. Henry was just so well fed that he had gained a few extra pounds.

Social Impact Demonstrators Project - Windmill Hill City Farm
The Project
The Make IT Yours Telling Stories with Images and Words Project ran between July and October 2007 and was planned and facilitated by Community ICT Officers Peter Holthuis and Lawrence Westland with help from volunteers at Windmill Hill City Farm Computer Centre in Bedminster, Bristol, UK. (windmillhillcityfarm.org.uk)
14 of the original 18 people who joined are presenting their work on this website. We have respected the wishes of those who preferred not to exhibit their work, but their input was none the less essential to the success of the project.
Windmill Hill City Farm has been able to fund this program as part of the national UKonline centre network (ukonlinecentres.com) and as a Social Impact Demonstrators Project.
The Aims
The aim of this Make IT Yours project was to provide adults with mental health issues the opportunity to use photography and writing as a means of self expression through the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT). This has then opened up chances for learning about ICT related topics generally, such as: getting online; using email, web design; image editing; word processing; etc.
The Project Themes:
All participants were given the task of taking photographs and writing text under the following themes:
1. The Learning Journey - first and last reaction to joining the project.
2. Personal Space - a positive and negative space.
3. Neighbourhood - what you like most and least about where you live?
4. Favourite Object - most and least favourite object.
5. Contentment - what makes you happy and sad?
6. Time of Day favourite and worst time of day.
