Tupari Dry Riesling Style Tasting Note
Tupari are fine wine producers creating some of NZ’s best artisan wine from the Awatere Valley of Marlborough, NZ. Tupari takes its name from the dramatic cliffs in the vineyard where our family and award winning winemaker Glenn Thomas have collaborated to create a selection of exquisite wines. Our range is rated as some of NZ’s best wine and includes sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, pinot gris and dry riesling.
Watch this video for a personal tasting note and food matching ideas for our award winning Dry Riesling.
Winemaker Description: A finely textured wine with rich flavours and complexity and a crisp dry finish.
The Naked Truth: ‘Dry’ means citrusy, crisp and refreshing. Think ‘zing’! Imagine a meal you would squeeze lemon over and instead open our Dry Riesling.

Situated on the Orchard Vineyard we converted a fruit packing house to our winery in time for the 2009 vintage. You will find no receival bin here - our grapes are hand harvested and hand sorted across a table. Mixing the modern with the traditional, we have small stainless steel tanks among traditional Burgundian puncheons, French cuves and French oak barriques for ageing.
‘A modern take on tradition’ sums up our winemaking philosophy, making authentic wine is very important to us, as well as making the best wines we can. We try and pick grapes on ‘fruit’ days, in accordance with the biodynamic calendar, and thereafter we choose fruit days to work with these wines. We find this works with the rhythm of nature and makes better wine. We allow natural yeasts the ability to do their thing wherever possible and we use sulfur sparingly and bottle with minimal fining and filtration.
Embodying the old world philosophy of oak supporting fruit in wine we use a range of traditional oak vessels. For example, we use puncheons for our white wines and for some of our Central Otago Pinot Noir to express the floral characters of the fruit. Our wines are released when they are ready, or as the French say éleve, which means we allow the wines to mature. and wine that sommeliers love

Boom Food-Taylor Pass Honey Chillie Chicken
Boom Food-Taylor Pass Honey Chillie Chicken.
Boom Food is a three part cooking series with Boom Chef, Fran Nolan. Boom Food features great Marlborough produce from Taylor Pass Honey, Renaissance Brewing and Lawsons Dry Hills wines. The first episode uses the golden honey of Taylor Pass Honey in Fran’s fantastic Honey Chilli Chicken dish.
In 2003 we began processing our own honey and our success in sourcing and producing high quality honey won the respect and trust of other beekeepers – soon they were asking us to process their honey too.
Over the years, our supply and honey processing capacity has grown through our knowledge, understanding and relationships. By 2009 we began our own distribution – selling honey directly to consumers throughout New Zealand, Europe and Asia – connecting us directly to the people who bought our product.
the honey we produce, which is how we have managed to grow sustainably – ensuring an abundant supply of honey while maintaining consistent quality throughout.
Today, Taylor Pass Honey Co is one of the largest honey operations in the South Island. We bring the richness of our thriving community through our products and brand to the world.
Yet we can still tell you exactly where each jar comes from, right down to the site it was harvested from, in this unique and untouched land we call home.
Manuka Blend Honey is a delicious combination of Manuka Honey with other rich New Zealand Bush Honey which is blended naturally by the bees. Manuka Blend is a rich and creamy honey, carrying the distinctive flavour and aroma of Manuka that lingers on the taste buds.Harvested from Blue Borage also known as Vipers Bugloss, a wild flower growing predominantly in the Marlborough and Otago regions of the South Island of New Zealand. Blue Borage has barley sugar aromas and flavours, with the deliciousness of whole comb honey but without the bits! A sweet, floral honey with a syrupy texture, and quite intense flavours.
Harvested from White Clover, a pasture crop common throughout New Zealand. This delicious honey has lovely warm straw and floral aromas and a velvety texture – creamy and rich. The sweet flavours are balanced by a hint of dried herbs.
Collected from the bark of the Native Black Beech tree. Large stands of beech trees are found in remote areas of native forest in the South Island of New Zealand. This honey, though deliciously sweet also offers an almost savoury, meaty tang. Complex aromas and flavours give it a toasty character and an intensity that lingers.
Harvested from New Zealand Native Bush which is prominent throughout New Zealand resulting in a unique blend. Native Flower has intense classic honey aromas and a rich, velvety texture together with a slightly herbal flavour. Although sweet at first, this lovely honey finishes slightly drier than other styles.
Our UMF® honey range is guaranteed to have a Unique Manuka Factor of 5+ or higher. 100% pure, independently tested Manuka Honey that has unique signature compounds characteristic of this honey which ensures purity and quality.Harvested from Native New Zealand Manuka, a scrub type tree found in dry coastal areas of both the North & South Islands. The aromas and flavours of Manuka Honey are very distinctive.
