The Fastest EVER Lap of Le Mans, with commentary by Sam Hancock.
In qualifying for the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans, Toyota's Kamui Kobayashi smashed the previous lap record with his extraordinary pole position lap. I was on commentary duties for Eurosport at the time, and it was my great pleasure to find myself describing one of the most sensational laps I have ever witnessed. I hope you enjoy this one:)

Corvette Racing - The 24 Hours of Le Mans 2015
LE MANS, France - Corvette Racing stood atop the podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on Sunday as Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner and Jordan Taylor wrote the final chapter of a storybook comeback that ended with the team winning the GTE Pro category in their No. 64 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R.
The trio in their No. 64 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R completed 337 laps for 2,864.50 miles in a frantic battle that eventually saw the Corvette win in class by five laps. Sunday's victory goes along with Corvette Racing's wins earlier this year in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
It also marked a significant turn in the fortunes for Corvette Racing in the span of four days. The No. 63 Corvette C7.R of Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen and Ryan Briscoe was withdrawn from the race following a hard crash with Magnussen driving. A small piece of debris inside the pedal box caused a throttle malfunction and the Corvette to skid and spin out of control. Magnussen - part of the winning lineup at both Daytona and Sebring with Garcia and Briscoe - was uninjured.

The Bugatti Chiron at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2016 - On Track + Drivers Parade
The Bugatti Chiron celebrated its debut in France at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2016 - the venue where the French super sports car brand once celebrated two of the greatest racing triumphs in its history, in 1937 and 1939. In honour of this legendary endurance race, Bugatti sent the Chiron to the Circuit des 24 Heures” to complete a parade lap just before the start of the race with more than 250,000 spectators watching. Behind the wheel of the world’s most powerful, fastest, most exclusive and most luxurious production super sports car was Wolfgang Dürheimer, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. The Chiron reached a speed of almost 380 kph (236 mph) and was as a result faster than the fastest race car of the weekend. The day before, the 1,500 PS supercar excited thousands of racing fans at the drivers parade through Le Mans.

Le Mans Crash - Disasters of the Century
Support BDHQ
The 1955 Le Mans disaster occurred during the 24 Hours of Le Mans motor race in Le Mans, France in June 1955, when a crash caused large fragments of debris to fly into the crowd. Eighty-three spectators and driver Pierre Levegh died and 120 more were injured in the most catastrophic accident in motorsport history.
There was much debate over the apportioning of blame. To reach his pit-stop, Mike Hawthorn had to cut in front of Lance Macklin, causing Macklin to swerve into the path of Levegh in his much faster Mercedes. The collision propelled Levegh’s car upwards and into a concrete stairwell, where he was killed, and the wreck exploded in flames. The inquiry held none of the drivers responsible, and blamed the layout of the 30-year old track, which had not been designed for cars of this speed.
