Firefighter Uses Crane to Lift Trapped Men in China's Guangxi
Firefighters rescued two men stranded in a flooded rural house in Chongzuo City of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Monday.

南沙填海工程——世界最大的人工岛群
经查迪拜棕榈岛已建成的仅有一个，面积5.72平方公里。
中国南沙美济岛、渚碧岛、永暑岛等总面积已有15平方公里，其中最大的美济岛近6平方公里，面积远远超过迪拜的人工岛，是不折不扣的世界第一。
除面积广阔外，南海人工岛群还有以下特点：

INTRO: Laos is entrusted to host the Asean Ecotourism Forum in Pakxe, Champassak province from June 22-25 to discuss regional cooperation regarding sustainable tourism development. In his opening remark, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Prof. Dr Bosengkham Vongdara stated that, the government has attached great importance on ecotourism development across the country aiming to protect the country's natural and cultural resources while bringing economic benefits to local communities. STORY: The ASEAN Ecotourism Forum 2016 organised by the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Lao PDR in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat and the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) is poised to be one of ASEAN's most important forum on ecotourism.
In his remark, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Prof. Dr Bosengkham Vongdara stated that, Laos has placed a great emphasis on ecotourism since 2009. As a result of ecotourism development, villagers earn direct income from tourists by selling food and handmade products, as well as by providing tourism-related services.
He said adding that, this is an opportune time for international tourism investors, developers and operators to tap into the exciting tourism opportunities ahead in the region.
The forum not only aims to promote sustainable businesses and generate jobs but also to foster a regional initiative to develop youth leadership among the ecotourism fraternity.
Under the aegis of the Asean Charter and in the spirit of Asean, tourism ministry officials, investors, researchers, practitioners and experts are encouraged to actively participate and contribute to this forum and be part of the legacy and transformation of this mega-biodiverse region to the most dynamic and prosperous ecotourism region in the world.
Proceeding under the theme: “ASEAN Without Borders: a Roadmap for Strategic Development of Ecotourism Clusters and Tourism Corridors”, of which the most important recommendations and resolutions will be incorporated in the “Pakse Declaration on ASEAN Roadmap for Strategic Development of Ecotourism”.
The declaration will call for an Asean coordinated roadmap for both public and private sectors to pool resources and unlock economic opportunities along designated tourism corridors.
Over 300 delegates from Asean nations attended the forum with a tourism trade fair featuring 200 also take place during the event. Apart from Asean nations, China, Japan and Republic of Korea also be exhibiting at the tourism fair.
Ecotourism aims to assist environmental protection, the sustainable use of natural and cultural resources and the delivery of measurable socio-economic benefits to local communities.

Activities also include zip lining, homestays and others that contribute to raising awareness for communities to protect nature and culture.
Laos has a population of 6.5 million people but the country is full of unspoiled, diverse ethnic lifestyles and traditions and perhaps the most extensive network of ecosystems on the Indochina Peninsula.
In place to protect and conserve these irreplaceable resources is a network of 20 National Protected Areas, often cited as one of the best designed Protected Area Systems in the world.
In 2015, the number of foreign visitors to Laos reached 4.6 million, representing an annual increase of 13 percent, compared to the previous year.
