Florida declares open season on green iguanas
A spike in the number of green iguanas in Florida has prompter the state's wildlife agency to encourage homeowners to kill the reptiles whenever possible. Experts are saying climate change could be contributing to their growing numbers. Joseph Wasilewski, a conservative biologist for Natural Selections of South Florida, joins CBSN to discuss the invasion.

With Grog’s mind now silenced, the twins fall upon the last surviving Duergar. Vex’ahlia presses their dwarven captive for information. The Duergar only laughs at the barbarian's plight, and spits out warnings of the “master” that awaits them below, before Vax’ildan finally puts her out of her misery. After an uneasy night’s rest for the party and hours of meditation for Keylith, the druid is thankfully able to restore Grog’s mind, and the Vox Machina continue down through the great cavern. They pass through a gutted goblin village strewn with corpses, and eventually spy another group of Duergar, dragging along 3 dwarven captives. Scanlan and the twins whip out their flying carpet and tail the Duergar from afar, over a thin, creeking rope bridge. Scanlon disappears from sight, and now invisible, carefully makes his way into a war camp teeming with dark dwarves, ogres, and trolls. There he bears witness to an Illithid controlling all those around him, devouring the mind of one of the three dwarven miners.
After catching his companions up, the group hatches a plan to lure their enemies into an illusion and drop them to their doom, into the cavern below the bridge. It is partially successful, but then, while acting as living bait, Vax’s mind is stunned by the Illithid and he is almost dropped to his death before Tiberius swoops in to save him.
With the plan now in disarray, Vex and Keylith decide to delve into the chasm below the bridge, in spite of their companions’ protests. Their instincts serve them well though, and hidden behind a subterranean waterfall they find a cave. Within it awaits a powerful and unlikely ally.

American Crocodile 07, Dangerous Reptiles of America
Filming the elusive American crocodile has been on my list for the last three years and finally I've found my way into its territory. These powerful reptiles are shy and will run into the water when approached. Amazingly, they do adapt to human interaction easily and even pose as tourist attraction at Flamingo Maria in South Florida. The American crocodile (crocodylus acutus) is a species of crocodilian found in the Neotropics. It is the most widespread of the four extant species of crocodiles from the Americans. Populations occur from the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of southern Mexico to South America as far as Peru and Venezuela. It also lives within many river systems on Cuba, Jamaica and Hispaniola. Within the United States the American crocodile is only found within the southern half of Florida. In Florida, there is an estimated population of about 2000. The habitat of the American crocodile consists largely of coastal areas. The American crocodile is larger than some other crocodile species, with some males reaching lengths of 6.1 meters (20 ft) in Central and South America.

List of 10 places that will disappear soon:
10. Sundarbans Reserve Forest
The Sundarbans Reserve Forest is one of the natural wonders of the world. It covers an area of more than 10,000 square kilometers across India and Bangladesh.
9. The Outer Banks, North Carolina
Lying off the coast of North Carolina is a 200 mile long string of islands, called the Outer Banks, that are known for their pristine beaches, beautiful towns, and great weather.
8. The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef, off the coast of Australia, is by far the largest coral structure in the world- so much so that it’s the only living thing that can be seen from space.
7. Antarctica
Antarctica is often thought of as the last great pristine wilderness, but contrary to what you may think- Antarctica is no longer an untouched environment that has avoided human disturbance.
6. Tikal National Park
Latin America has a great deal of sites of archaeological significance, and Tikal National Park in northern Guatemala is no exception. It’s one of the sites where the Maya civilisation lived between the 6th century BC and 10th century AD, and served as a ceremonial center.
5. The Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is one of the most famous bodies of water on the planet. It’s the one that has such high salinity that you can’t sink in it. In fact, it has eight or nine times the amount of salt in it as the other oceans, and it is so dense that it doesn’t even feel like water.
4. The Seychelles
The Seychelles are a chain of more than 115 islands, in the Indian Ocean. They are famous for their idyllic beaches, massive boulders, and giant tortoises. Like so many low lying regions, though, they are under threat, and could possibly be nothing more than a memory within our lifetimes.
3. The Everglades
The Everglades national park in Florida is well known for its crocodiles, alligators, panthers, manatees, and countless other species- but the entire region is under threat. It’s the largest subtropical wilderness reserve on the North American continent, and has the biggest mangrove ecosystem in the western hemisphere.
2. Venice
It’s the romantic capital of the world, attracting love birds from all over to waltz and cavort through the streets, and take a gondola ride through the canals. It’s also a hub of culture, with the opportunity to attend musical performances you’ll see nowhere else- but Venice has a problem. It is sinking.
1. Kiribati
Kiribati is likely the first populated region that will become uninhabitable in the world. The archipelago consists of 33 coral atolls in a space of less than 1.5 square miles, and has an average height of just 6.5 feet above sea level.

PLAYLIST: Disney Alligator Attack – From the Inside Edition Newsdesk:
Disney World ignored warnings that guests were feeding alligators at the park and the areas along the lagoon where a 2-year-old was snatched, according to reports. Guests staying at the swanky Bora Bora Bungalows were reportedly known to frequently feed gators in the same lagoon where Lane Graves lost his life. The luxurious private villas at Disney's Polynesian Resort rent for $2,000-a-night. They were built on stilts over the 7 Seas Lagoon.
Video shows alligator scaling front door of South Carolina home
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — A Moncks Corner family had an unusual visitor at the front door of their home and a bystander caught the encounter on camera.
Alligator sightings are pretty common in the Lowcountry, but one crawling up the front door is a sighting that most haven't seen.
Gary Rogers says he was walking his dog down a street in Foxbank Plantation Monday morning when construction workers stopped what they were doing to watch an alligator meander into the yards of two homes.
Rogers says he reached for his phone as the big reptile headed for the front porch of one home.
He was walking around in front of a couple of houses down in the cul-de-sac area. So we went down. Took a couple videos. Got some good shots of him. He was trying to climb the fence a couple times. Tried to climb somebody's door. It was pretty funny actually, Rogers said. I'm not from the area, so seeing an alligator is interesting as far as I'm concerned.
Neighbors say it's not unusual to see alligators near the waterways of Foxbank Plantation, but Monday's incident was surprising because none of the neighbors had seen a gator on the front porch.
The gator was not aggressive at all. He was just kind of trying to find his way out. I mean he was caught between fences, in between a couple of houses. Had no place to go. Went around the air conditioner a couple of times, Rogers said.
But Rogers was surprised to see the reptile try to climb a front door.
I didn't know alligators could actually climb. And this alligator looked like he was really trying to make an attempt to get over the fence and into this woman's pool in the backyard. And then when it went over to the house it kind of was up around the doorbell, he said.
Jamie Bailey says she doesn't know if the gator actually rang the bell, but she did find plenty of scratches on the door when she got home.
You can see where he was scratching all around the door here. And then there. And then you can see the scratches on the knob itself, Bailey said.
She was at work when a neighbor texted her about the unexpected visitor.
I thought it was a joke. And the first picture she sent me was from over here. And I couldn't see it on the porch. And then they sent me the video front on and I was in disbelief. Couldn't believe it, Bailey said. I mean who would have thought -- an alligator!
Bailey says she's seen alligators in the area before, but never thought one would come knocking and try to get in her house.
I told my husband earlier I said we're going to get a gator crossing sign -- and we're putting it in the front yard, she said.
Rogers says the gator wandered the cul-de-sac for about an hour.
Dozens of alligators at Myakka River State Park
Alligators love to gather near an old sinkhole at lower Myakka Lake in Sarasota, creating a scene that's so Florida.
The alligators are near what's called the 'Deep Hole' sinkhole, which is a 200-foot-wide, 130- to 140-foot-deep pool that has become a known gathering place for alligators.

Snake slithers from vent in Florida woman's car
Experienced gardeners will say most snakes should not be feared because they eat mice and are not venomous. Experienced drivers, however, will tell you a snake in your car is not a great sign.
That's what Monica Dorsett found out when what appears to be a red rat snake slithered from the vent in her car as she drove through down a Venice roadway.

HAVE YOU SEEN A FISH THAT CAN WALK ON LAND
Unlike most fish, mudskippers spend much of their life OUT of water! How do they do it? Mudskippers are fish and so they have gills. Once out of the water, their gills begin to dry out and stick together, so mudskippers have a special cavity behind their ears where sea water is stored. As they rotate their eyes, pressure is applied to that cavity and this reoxygenates the stored water, lubricates the gill flaps and restores the gills to their normal function.
Mudskipper eyes are remarkable! These amphibian-like fish have large eyes mounted on top of their heads. This allows for a fantastic panoramic view. The eyes are protected by a clear layer of skin. Since they have no tear ducts to keep their eyes moist, they alternately roll their eyes backwards into their sockets!
A fish that walks?
Mudskippers have highly modified large pectoral (front) fins which are used like legs. Instead of swimming like most fish, mudskippers use their pectoral fins to walk on land and under the water.
Mudskippers are quite literally walking fish and the imagery they give us is a good indication of the evolutionary steps that brought us out of the oceans. They range in size from 4 to 12 inches long. There are various different species of mudskipper but they are all similar. The eyes move independently and can see in all directions either on land or in the water.
Dolphin Birthing Circles at Crystal Cove State Park
Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins, according to my sources, can give birth at anytime of the year. We are fortunate at Crystal Cove State Park to sometimes see it happen right in front of the Beachcomber Restaurant and the Historic Cottages. I've witnessed four so far this year! I first heard about Dolphin Birthing Circles from my Marine Biology Professor Dennis Kelley at OCC way back in 1976. Thus far I've gotten the group gathering, and mom and newborn baby leaving right after the birth, but have never timed it right to get the actual birth taking place. One of these days Dennis!
