I'm Home! The Best View in Calgary | Canada Travel Vlog
I'm home here in Calgary! And, I'm pretty stoked to be exploring, photographing and vlogging my home province and city.
For my images from Calgary and beyond, check out my Instagram @brendanvanson.
It's time to go home. After a layover in Newfoundland on last episode ( in which I just got destroyed by bad weather, my flight to Calgary was quite early morning; and it's not like it was a short flight.
In this travel vlog, I think I give you a good idea of how big Canada is. From Newfoundland to Calgary was actually almost a 7 hour flight. And, to get to Calgary we crossed 5 time zones. It was quicker to get across the Atlantic than it was to cross Canada.
When I got home, I was met by my brother and his fiance. And, as good as it was to be home I had so much running around to do in the city before the long weekend happened. The most important this is that I needed to renew my passport. Luckily, I managed to do that pretty quickly and headed back to my brother's house for the night.
The best view in Calgary is actually from my brother's house. And, that's one of the reasons I love staying there. It's also cool because he has lots of my pictures hanging around the house. And, it's as close to a home as I have in the world.
Of course, having the best view in Calgary meant I had to photograph it. So, I busted out my camera gear and grabbed a couple shots of the Calgary skyline.
But, there's lots of smoke from the forest fires out in BC right now, and it was bending into my images of the city. I thought the light over Calgary was going to be brilliant and orange because of the smoke, but it ended up being kind of harsh.
I did get a cool photo of the smoke blowing into the city though, so it definitely wasn't for nothing. I think it's actually a pretty unique image.
My Canada travel vlog playlist is just getting started. There's lots of content coming from this part of the world. Since it's home for me, it should be a lot of fun to photograph as well.
Calgary is a pretty cool city too, so I'm looking forward to showing you a little bit of it on the vlog as well.
Tomorrow, we're leaving Calgary for a bit and heading to the mountains. That should be fun.

The 10 Best Places To Live In The Alberta | Canada
Are you considering a move to a new Canadian city to make a better life?
Alberta is a province in Western Canada. Its landscape encompasses mountains, prairies, desert badlands, and vast coniferous forests.
It is Canada's fourth-most populous province and the most populous of Canada's three prairie provinces.
Alberta has more than 600 lakes and rich mineral deposits. In the west, the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks have glaciers in the Columbia Icefields.
The Waterton Glacier International Peace Park is a biosphere reserve that straddles the southern border with the USA.
You can find several smaller towns and cities that are perfect for raising a family, finding a good job, or simply enjoying a quiet retirement.
Over the last five years, the province of Alberta has seen it’s population skyrocket due to people coming to the province to find work.
With its scenic beauty, no provincial tax, and higher average wages anywhere in the country, Alberta offers a high quality of life that’s hard to find elsewhere.
We’ve taken a look at some statistics and compiled a list of the 10 best places to live in Alberta:
10. Banff.
9. Lethbridge.
8. Camrose.
7. Jasper.
6. Medicine Hat.
5. Canmore.
4. Strathcona County.
3. Calgary.
2. Edmonton.
1. St. Albert.
Thanks for watching this video. I hope it's useful for you.

Great Photography Tips To Help You Succeed
Photography can be one of the hardest art forms to master as it requires both natural ability coupled with a lot of work to get good. You must be willing to learn a few new trade secrets, and educate yourself in order take pictures that you can really be proud of, though this does not mean that you must be a born photographer.
Choose what will show in your shot. A great picture will allow the viewer to see a small window that shows one view of your subject. Avoid trying to get too many things within the desire to show more than is needed. If you are trying to convey an overall impression of a scene, take a series of pictures, instead of a single image without a clear subject.
If they capture too much gray sky in it, try not to capture a gray sky in your shots.Your photo will look washed out. If you must shoot into an overcast sky, black and white photos can work better. If the sky is blue and beautiful, however, but be careful of the light.
While the background is important, viewers often focus on the foreground instead.
This tip you can use in photography. Learn about the shutter has. Your camera has settings labeled A, M and A and S. The P setting represents the program mode. This P setting has your camera determine your shutter and aperture speeds automatically. Shoot using the P setting if you don't know what you're shooting.
Experiment with all of your cameras features, along with angles and colors. You do not necessarily need an original object to take a great picture. A skilled photographer infuses his intuition and talent into his photos to make boring objects look interesting. Experiment with your own style.
Take shots of people whose faces tell stories.Always ask for their permission first. When traveling, seeing these pictures can remind you of the memories involved, even if the people you photographed do not look like they would stand out from a crowd at the moment when you take your picture. Try to get laid back clothing and a candid expression with casual clothing.
You can be a great photographer and even have a career based off of it. Rather then pointing and clicking taking a photo is so much more than that. Photography is about capturing today's moments and turning them into tangible memories for the future.

Flying from New York to Toronto, Canada, catch my first impressions of Canada and follow along for some travel photography around Toronto with my Fujifilm X-H1.
Honestly, I couldn't stop taking photos of the CN Tower throughout the few days we had in Toronto. Partly because I was so excited to finally see it, and partly because it's literally sticking out behind every single building and every single view of the city!
Even though we only spent a few days in Toronto, I really fell in love with Canada and will definitely be returning for a much longer time in the future. I'm so glad we squeezed Toronto into our New York trip, as well as a quick visit to Montreal which you can catch in the next video.

ILLEGALLY flying a DRONE in Canada

The Music I use:
It's 2017 - we often asks ourselves, Where can I fly a drone? Is it safe to fly my drone here? Am I allowed to fly a drone here? WILL I BE ARRESTED?
Transport Canada just released a new set of Drone Laws for recreational and professional use. Do I agree with them? Some. But I do think it inhibits creators with how many new limitations are at play.

Learn Some Basic Photography Tips From The Pros
Poor photography will negatively affect your overall photographic reputation. This article contains some tips to help you improve your photography techniques.
Choose carefully what will be in your photograph. A good photograph will be a small frame that shows one view of your subject. Don't try to cram too much within each picture. Instead of taking on single picture, take a whole series of photos to really capture everything about a subject.
Try new things, and take original photos. Avoid recreating certain famous photographs to see how your view differs from that you have seen millions of times. Try looking for angles that are unique, and be creative!
