Tanggulangin Leather Industry - East Java
Tanggulangin Leather Industry
Tanggulangin leather industry, is an industrial for bags, luggage and products related and become an icon for Tanggulangin district. This industrial was begin in 1939, when some craftsmen started making bags and suitcase stuffs. And in 1976 it was established the Bags and Luggage Cooperative Industrial (Intako), which was initially consisted of only 27 people.
The venture capital is obtained from members' savings. On its way, the cooperative continued to grow and the members has reached 354 crafters of Small and Medium Enteprises with the assets about Rp 10 billion.
Unfortunately, after the Lapindo mudflow it almost 70 percent of crafters in Tanggulangin already bankrupt. Some of them who still survive are only work for orders.
Tanggulangin bags and suitcases manufacture is one of the tourism icons in Sidoarjo. The products include bags, briefcases, wallets, belts and shoes. The products are having good quality that has been recognized by consumers.
Tanggulangin leather industry is having the same concept like in Cibaduyut leather industry in West Java. The area is full of leather fashion stores that offer some particular design into the display wall. Hence, the customers will enjoy their window shopping before entering the chosen store. On each stores, the products are having competitive price among others and having the same quality in design or pattern.
If we are going down further into the village, we will find more home industrial. Basically, the villagers are live as leather craftsman, then they opened a small shop to market their products that can easily be visited by prospective buyers.
Formerly, Tanggulangin leather industry tends to produce luggage, but at the time goes by the bags productions are dominating the whole productions. It happens because the main potential buyers are women, who tend to look for the beauty fashion bags and clutch for their own.
Today, Tanggulangin leather industry is still exist to show their capability to produce more and more products to their consumers that give trust to them. Hopefully, by the existing of those craftmens will bring the proper and better living for Sidoarjo people.

This era, when the people want everything simple and minimalist, Kasongan has fewer enthusiasts. And less of villager got the high education, so they do not know about how to market their products in this new era. Even they have ability, they are less creativity. So, nowadays, they almost left behind. If government want to help Kasongan village, and the maker want to response the modernism and learn about the customer needs too, Kasongan Pottery will develop and survive.

SUMMARY
=======
Hinduism in Indonesia is practised by 1.7% of the total population, and by 83.5% of the population in Bali as of the 2010 census. Hinduism is one of the six official religions of Indonesia. Hinduism came to Indonesia in the first century through traders, and Hindu epics, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, became ingrained in the culture and worldview of the Javanese through the wayang kulit (“leather puppets”), specially during the Indianised Srivijaya and Majapahit empires. In 2010, there were an estimated total of over 4 million Hindus in Indonesia according to Indonesian census. The Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia disputed the census methodology, and estimated 18 million Hindus lived in Indonesia in 2005. In 2010, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Government of Indonesia estimated that about 10 million Hindus lived on Indonesian islands, in contrast to the Indonesian official decadal census of over 4 million. Nevertheless as of 2017, Indonesia has the largest number of Hindus living in the region and outside of South Asia.

SUMMARY
=======
Islamic art encompasses the visual arts produced from the 7th century onward by people who lived within the territory that was inhabited by or ruled by culturally Islamic populations. It is thus a very difficult art to define because it covers many lands and various peoples over some 1,400 years; it is not art specifically of a religion, or of a time, or of a place, or of a single medium like painting. The huge field of Islamic architecture is the subject of a separate article, leaving fields as varied as calligraphy, painting, glass, pottery, and textile arts such as carpets and embroidery.
Islamic art is not at all restricted to religious art, but includes all the art of the rich and varied cultures of Islamic societies as well. It frequently includes secular elements and elements that are frowned upon, if not forbidden, by some Islamic theologians. Apart from the ever-present calligraphic inscriptions, specifically religious art is actually less prominent in Islamic art than in Western medieval art, with the exception of Islamic architecture where mosques and their complexes of surrounding buildings are the most common remains. Figurative painting may cover religious scenes, but normally in essentially secular contexts such as the walls of palaces or illuminated books of poetry. The calligraphy and decoration of manuscript Qur'ans is an important aspect, but other religious art such as glass mosque lamps and other mosque fittings such as tiles (e.g. Girih tiles), woodwork and carpets usually have the same style and motifs as contemporary secular art, although with religious inscriptions even more prominent.
Islamic art developed from many sources: Roman, Early Christian art, and Byzantine styles were taken over in early Islamic art and architecture; the influence of the Sassanian art of pre-Islamic Persia was of paramount significance; Central Asian styles were brought in with various nomadic incursions; and Chinese influences had a formative effect on Islamic painting, pottery, and textiles. Though the whole concept of Islamic art has been criticised by some modern art historians, calling it a figment of imagination or a mirage,
the similarities between art produced at widely different times and places in the Islamic world, especially in the Islamic Golden Age, have been sufficient to keep the term in wide use by scholars.There are repeating elements in Islamic art, such as the use of geometrical floral or vegetal designs in a repetition known as the arabesque. The arabesque in Islamic art is often used to symbolize the transcendent, indivisible and infinite nature of God. Mistakes in repetitions may be intentionally introduced as a show of humility by artists who believe only God can produce perfection, although this theory is disputed.Typically, though not entirely, Islamic art has focused on the depiction of patterns, whether purely geometric or floral, and Arabic calligraphy, rather than on figures, because it is feared by many Muslims that the depiction of the human form is idolatry and thereby a sin against God, forbidden in the Qur'an. Human portrayals can be found in all eras of Islamic art, above all in the more private form of miniatures, where their absence is rare. Human representation for the purpose of worship is considered idolatry and is duly forbidden in some interpretations of Islamic law, known as Sharia law. There are also many depictions of Muhammad, Islam's chief prophet, in historical Islamic art. Small decorative figures of animals and humans, especially if they are hunting the animals, are found on secular pieces in many media from many periods, but portraits were slow to develop.
