Ledenika (Bulgarian: Леденика, English: icy or glacial[1]) is a cave in the Northwestern parts of the Balkan Mountains, 16 km away from the Bulgarian city of Vratsa.[2] Its entrance is approximately 830 m above sea level. The cave features an abundance of galleries and impressive karst formations including stalactites and stalagmites.[1] It was first discovered around the beginning of the 20th century and has been open to tourists since 1961.[1] Ledenika Peak on Graham Land in Antarctica is named after the cave, in recognition of its cultural importance.[3]

The city of Vratsa is located in the foothills of Vrachanski Balkan (Vratsa Mountain), on the banks of Leva River. The city is 116 km away from the national capital Sofia. Vratsa is an ancient city found by ancient Thracians. Vratsa was called Valve (door of a fortress) by the Romans due to a narrow passage where the main gate of the city fortress was located. Nowadays, this passage is the symbol of Vratsa, and is shown on the town's Coat of arms.
Ledenika cave is the most frequently visited Bulgarian cave.

Революционерът Христо Ботев, от когото остава огнената фраза, стигнала до други континенти и други въстания за свобода: Тоз, който падне в бой за свобода, той не умира! Писателят и духовник Софроний Врачански. Световноизвестният скулптор Андрей Николов или Поета на мрамора и бронза, както го нарича западната преса. А филмът е противоречив, защото напълно потвърждава цялата фраза на видния врачанин Васил Кънчов: Господ е проклел града и клетвата трябва да има причини. Или много грехове са направили нашите бащи и деди, или пък вечно опозиционният дух на съгражданите ни е причина за тази клетва...” Което ще накара мнозина врачани да видят от съвсем различен ъгъл своя град. И да научат факти, които дори те не са подозирали.
