Leeds City Centre Floods, Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK - 26th December, 2015
After several days of heavy rain on already saturated ground, the River Aire (like many rivers in Northern England) broke its banks in several places in Leeds city centre (as well as elsewhere). This film was taken from a walk beginning at 15:40 next to Leeds Railway Station on Princes Square and ending just shortly after 18:20 on East Street (A61).
The film features views of the River Aire at full flow and in flood: at Leeds Station Southern Entrance; from Victoria Bridge; from behind Asda House; on Meadow Lane; on Water Lane; at Bridge End; from Leeds Bridge; from Riverside Court; from Centenary Bridge; at Brewery Place; along Dock Street; from behind Oracle; from Crown Point Bridge; along East Street; through Turlow Court; and most dramatically at the junction of East Street (A61) and Marsh Lane.
At 11:50 there is a barge which has become wedged under a balcony / walkway, lifting the balcony / walkway above it. This is just under Centenary Bridge, opposite Oracle Bar.
**PLEASE NOTE** The last few minutes of the video near East Street have corrupted, they can be found here: .
According to the Environment Agency, the River Aire went on to reach 2.93 metres at Crown Point at 23:30. It's typical height is between 0.53 and 1.35 metres.
A Yorkshire Evening Post article about the flooding can be found here: .

Leeds shopping guide 2019 (Things to do in Leeds)
Explore Leeds's most popular shopping locations with this virtual tour around the city. With numerous shopping streets, centres and arcades it is easy for first time visitors to the city to feel overwhelmed. Where should I go first? How far is it from here to there? Should I get the bus with my shopping or can I walk?
I've mapped out an easy route around the city, taking into consideration the likelihood that you'll be increasing your haul along the journey.
This video guides you along a route which prioritises up hill walking first, allowing an easier walk later whilst you have more bags. The route also includes a couple of rest areas for drinks and snacks, and saves the more popular shopping locations (where you're more likely to make purchases) for towards the end of the day when you won't have as far to carry everything.
Included in the list is:
Merrion centre
St. Johns centre
The Core shopping centre
Lands Lane
Queens Arcade
Thorntons Arcade
Briggate
Country Arcade
Victoria Quarter
John Lewis
Trinity shopping centre
Trinity Kitchen

Shocking moment brawl erupts on late night train to Hull from Leeds
Three friends - Jacob West, Luke Lyons, and Max Pearson - were returning from a university reunion in Leeds when they were attacked by two men shortly before they were due to get off in Brough. The violence, which began after 10.30pm on January 28 last year, lasted about five minutes and ended when a guard came and split the men up. Although Williams, Griffin and Pearson all admitted assault by beating, Mr West, 27, was convicted of common assault after a trial. He successfully appealed against that conviction in a hearing at Hull Crown Court on Thursday.

Sunny Saturday Afternoon at Leeds Station | 18/01/2020
This Video is Property of MT Productions!
2160p 4K HD!
Hello everyone, MT here with the usual trainspotting action. During a bright sunny afternoon, I popped back over to my hometown’s railway station, Leeds and see how much has change with the type of traffic that passes through and stops here. One things that was different for sure was the brand-new units from both Northern and TPE making regular appearances as more are coming into passenger service.
The highlight of the day though was the DRS 20’s hauling their own exclusive rail tour to bid farewell before they retire from operation after being on the British network for sixty years now. Dozens for photographers came out to see them go which is why some were in my shots partly blocking my view. Hopefully this won’t spoil your time watching and at least enjoy everything you folks see in this film.
Trains include: LNER Azuma & 225 set, CrossCountry Voyagers, Transpennine Express 185’s, ‘Nova 1’ 802’s & ‘Nova 3’ 68+Mk5a’s, Northern Pacer, 150, 158’s, 170, 195’s, 331 & 333 and Direct Rail Service 20302/305 hauling the ‘DRS Class 20 Farewell’ rail tour

England 2018: Tour of the British City Leeds in West Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom!
Enjoy a day life in the British city Leeds for a 2018 tour beginning with a normal but busy Friday night! Then as the sunsets, the evening lights light up. People go to the theater, drink in pubs with their friends or go to a nightclub to dance. This is the end of the day but also a beginning of the night for the evening crawlers of Leeds. Then time goes backwards and we travel to the Leeds dock, which is by the River Aire in central Leeds. It has large residential population in waterside apartments and restaurants. Then we go across the campus of University of Leeds, we can see the white Parkinson building which is a landmark of Leeds. Then it’s the town hall and Millennium Square which are landmarks of Leeds as well. People in Leeds like to enjoy the sunshine at Hyde park! It’s also a nice place for people who love skateboarding and basketball. As we all know, English people love football (or soccer) and we can see how crazy they are when then win a world cup football match in this video. This is actually the game where they beat Panama 6-1 in the 2018 World Cup. There’s people cheering, waving flags and parading around the streets. Then it's time for the sunrise again, and lights light up again and people go out in the evening yet again. It’s a cycle but this is life in Leeds.
Thank you very much for watching and we hope you enjoy it! Video footage and editing by Jaya Chen at I executive produced the video and composed the music for it as seen at
Love,
Jerry Banfield

Driving Video From Leeds To Kendal. Recorded with Go Pro Hero 5.
Leeds Railway Station, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England - Throughout 2013
I spend a lot of time travelling by rail, and often have to change trains at Leeds Railway Station, (often referred to as Leeds City Station). I always have something with me which I can record some video footage with, be it my iPhone, iPad, Flip Ultra or Canon Legria Camcorder, so in the minutes that I'm waiting, I quite often make a few seconds worth of film of either the surroundings or of the passing rail traffic. I have done this for the past three years now, and at the beginning of a new year have released my compilation from the previous year. Here is my compilation of footage from Leeds Railway Station in 2013. The clips have been put in the order that they were shot chronologically, starting in January and finishing in December. Some shots are by day, and others at night, but all of them capture the moments that I was there waiting.
This film features some unusual visitors to Leeds Railway Station, including the Network Rail Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) DR98013 which is used for overhead line maintenance, as well as the Network Rail yellow 'banana' track testing High Speed Train (HST), and a Direct Rail Services (DRS) Class 37 coupled to an old 975 unit, which contains Network Rail employees. The film also features the East Coast Trains dedicated to the James Bond film 'Skyfall' and the Battle of Britain memorial train.
Featured class locomotives and units are as follows: Class 37, Class 43, Class 82, Class 91, Class 142, Class 144, Class 150, Class 153, Class 158, Class 185, Class 220, Class 322, Class 333, Class 975 and MPV Class DR9.
Featured train operating companies are as follows: East Coast Trains, Northern Rail, First Trans-Pennine Express, Cross Country, Direct Rail Services and Network Rail.
