Giant Dunes At Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore - MI, USA
This was our final stop on our camping trip. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a United States National Lakeshore located along the northwest coast of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan in Leelanau and Benzie counties near Empire, Michigan. The park covers a 35-mile-long (56 km) stretch of Lake Michigan's eastern coastline, as well as North and South Manitou islands. This Northern Michigan park was established primarily because of its outstanding natural features, including forests, beaches, dune formations, and ancient glacial phenomena. The lakeshore also contains many cultural features including the 1871 South Manitou Island Lighthouse, three former stations of the Coast Guard (formerly the Life-Saving Service) and an extensive rural historic farm district. In 2011, the area won the title of The Most Beautiful Place in America from Good Morning America.[3] In 2014, a section of the park was named the Sleeping Bear Dunes Wilderness by the United States Congress.

As of 2013, there were 2,650 acres under wine-grape cultivation and 101 commercial wineries in Michigan, producing 1.3 million US gallons of wine. According to another count there were 112 operating wineries in Michigan in 2007.Wine and enotourism were estimated in 2007 to be a million industry. Most of the quality bottled wine of Michigan is produced in the five American Viticultural Areas of Fennville AVA, Lake Michigan Shore AVA, Leelanau Peninsula AVA, Old Mission Peninsula AVA, and the Tip of the Mitt AVA. There are also a few disjunct wineries in every region of the state, including some in the Upper Peninsula that have opened over the past several years. In addition to grape wine, Michigan is a leader in the production of fruit wines such as cherry wine.

Sleeping Bear Dunes 250 Ft up from the Eye in the Sky!
Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire, Michigan. I took the drone up 250 FT in the sky and it still didn't even clear the dunes to see Lake Michigan Behind it as the Dunes go up 450 FT. The dunes are massive and the video was spectacular even in the 25 MPH winds that were going on!

Aurora Borealis Upper Peninsula USA: March 17, 2015
Upper Peninsula Michigan USA northern lights: We had a St. Patrick's Day storm at Houghton Michigan, only this year, March 17, 2015, it was a geomagnetic storm. The Aurora Borealis was slightly visible right after sunset and very active G4 storm at 9:00 -11:00pm EST. The storm was caused by a Coronal Mass Ejection or CME that exploded off the sun, for several hours the storm was rated a G4-Class storm with a KP of 8.
It was very slippery out on the ice on the lake. Another phenomenon that shook me up was the ice made a loud kaboom every once in a while when it was cracking, probably jolted the camera also. So I learned my lesson, do not have the camera on lake ice, as it does vibrate on a clear night when the temperature is dropping
