At disreputable animal parks and traveling zoos in Florida, visitors are encouraged to pose for photos with baby chimpanzees, swim with baby tigers or play with other exotic animals. These encounters come at a price.
Animals to be used for photo ops or play sessions are often removed from the care of their mothers shortly after birth. When an animal grows too large to be handled, they may be abandoned in a cage or dumped at another exhibitor. In addition to being exploitive and cruel, these money-making schemes encourage the irresponsible breeding of tigers and other captive wildlife, and only worsen a nationwide crisis of unwanted exotic animals.
There is no reason why any member of the public should come in contact with wild animals and their young.

A small town in the southern U-S is being invaded by vultures.
In scenes that could be straight out of the movie The Birds hundreds of the turkey vultures have descended on Leesburg in Virginia.
The town is now seeking federal assistance to cope with the unwanted winter visitors.
Another vulture arrives in Leesburg, a Virginia town under siege by hundreds of the birds.
Locals complain that numbers of the feathered nuisances have been steadily growing.
They estimate about 12-hundred turkey and black vultures came to stay last winter and fear more are on the way this year.
During summer the birds hatch their young in the country - but when the weather turns cooler they head to town for their winter roosts.

It's been noticeable probably for the last seven to eight years. Now the last two to three years it seems like it has really intensified as far as the number of the birds that we have seen coming into the community and as far as the damage they have been inflicting on some of the trees and some of the neighbourhoods in Leesburg as well.

The birds begin to congregate at sunset.
Although they weigh in at about six pounds (2.7 kilogrammes) and have a six-foot (1.83 metres) wing span, the birds appear more menacing than they really are.
Their shadows flying over houses in the wealthy north-western part of Leesburg makes the neighborhood resemble a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's horror movie The Birds.
It's a sight that has this neighbourhood living in fear - however, it's not just the sight that has prompted complaints from residents.
Some of the vultures more vulgar habits include urinating on their legs to cool themselves - and when they feel threatened they have a habit of vomiting on the aggressors.
Living in the middle of the battleground is Leesburg's Mayor, James Clem.

A lot of the people are concerned about them - because the residue is damaging to the paint on automobiles. And the young children that live in my neighbours' next door and the street behind me they have to wash the toys off every time they go out to play - the jungle gym has to be scrubbed down - it's a real bothersome issue for them.

Despite the town's heritage as a battlefield in both the Revolutionary and Civil wars, shooting the birds is out of the question because they're protected under law.
After six years of air horns, balloons, fire crackers and even firing light cannons to try to dissuade the vultures from using their neighbourhood, the residents are now calling for help from the federal government.
Describing it as their last resort, the residents hope that trapping the birds and moving them 200 miles (320 kilometres) away will solve their problems.

Well - we're going on percentages that what we've been told by the United States Department of Agriculture has worked for them in the past. So we're hoping that if the birds are relocated that maybe will be the last we see of them.

Once caught, the birds will be tagged and released in rural southern Virginia, with the hope that they will not return.
However some vulture experts are sceptical, noting that vultures have been known to fly all the way to Central America and manage to find their way back.
