The Leiden Experience: A Book's Life
A book that is borrowed from the University Library could be a student’s friend for a day. It travels with her through the streets of Leiden, to her room, and via a nice café and the Lipsius building back to the library. But what happens in the meantime…
At Leiden's University Library there are more than 5.2 million books waiting to be read, so this book is a lucky guy (or girl).
This Leiden Experience video is made by students of the Faculty of Humanities:

Braintime at Leiden University: Discovering the developing brain
What is going on in the head of teenagers? In 2011, at Leiden University’s Brain and Development Lab, prof. Eveline Crone launched the Braintime project: ‘I want to know why teenagers change, why they get better at planning and organising as they grow older and why they can make friends and be social. At the same time teenagers make often reckless decisions and they are often thrill-seekers. The processing of information keeps improving, so how come teenagers do also more stupid things? That’s what we want to look at.’

- I'm pretty sure the rowing boat renting place is closed too, but I think there should be some different options in town.

• Can you review my book?
I’m always happy to hear about upcoming books, but I’m afraid I don’t review self-published books and can only accept a small number of books for review. I enjoy reading classics, dystopian/apocalyptic novels, sci-fi, translated fiction and a variety of graphic novels, YA and contemporary literary fiction.
• Where is your accent from?
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, studied English Lit at Leiden University (also in the Netherlands), studied in the US for 3 months and have lots of American friends. I'm definitely not Irish or Canadian, I promise!
• Where do you live?
I live in London and have been here for 6 years now.
• How did you get into publishing?
I did publishing work experience, did a lot of networking and learned everything I know about social media from creating and running this channel. (P.s. You don't necessarily have to study Publishing or English to get a job in publishing!).
