Crowsnest Pass History Tour - Part I
We spent the weekend in the Crowsnest Pass exploring the history of the area. From going underground in a former coal mine to museums to mass graves to rock slides to bootlegging, we cover a bit of everything.
We check out the Bellevue Mine tour, downtown Coleman, the Crowsnest Museum, the Alberta Provincial Police Barracks where a deadly shootout took place almost 100 years ago, and pay a visit to the Leitch Collieries. That's one busy day!
This is Part I in a two part series.
As always, thanks for coming along for the ride!

Somnolence excerpts
Choreography, Video Direction, Videography, and Editing by:Jennifer Mahood
Performed by: Caileen Bennett, Jessalyn Britton, Chantal Connolly, Lauren Cote, and Liisa Hohn.
Music by: Anthony Tan
Somnolence is a journey through a dreamscape. I am fascinated with dreams and how, in the moment, we believe these worlds are reality, however absurd the subject matter. Somnolence is an intermedia work using dance and video, exploring a hybrid movement vocabulary developed through both the live and digital work. The video was filmed in various landscapes of the Crowsnest Pass. I find this particular corner of Alberta, with its diverse and bizarre landscapes, very inspiring.
