Let's Be friends Afghanistan - Citadel of Herat
The Citadel of Herat also known as the Citadel of Alexander the Great, and locally known as Qalai Ekhtiyaruddin is located in the center of Herat in Afghanistan. It dates back to 330 BC, when Alexander the Great and his army arrived to what is now Afghanistan after the Battle of Guagimala. Many empires have used it as a headquarters in the last 2,000 years, and was destroyed and rebuilt many times over the centuries

MAZAR-E-SHARIF AFGHANISTAN
1975 Mazari Sharif, also known as Mazar-e-Sharif, Mazar-i Sharif, Mazār-e Sharīf and Mazar-i-Sharif (Persian: مزار شریف), is the fourth largest city of Afghanistan, with population of 183,000 people (2002 official estimate). It is the capital of Balkh province and is linked by highways with Kabul to the south-east, Herat to the west and Uzbekistan to the north. Mazari Sharif means Holy Grave or Sacred Grave. The dominant language in Mazari Sharif is Dari. The city is significant to Shia Muslims, as it is the home of the extraordinary Rawze-e-Sharif or Blue Mosque, postulated to be where the fourth caliph of Islam (Hazrat Ali) is buried. The city continues to be a major tourist spot because of its fabulous Muslim and Ancient Greek architecture. In July 2006, the discovery of Greek remains was announced. Mazari Sharif is in full control of the new Afghan central government, which is lead by US backed President Hamid Karzai. There are also NATO peacekeeing forces in and around the city providing assistance to the new government. [edit] Industry The local economy is dominated by agriculture and karakol production; small scale oil and gas exploitation have boosted the city's prospects. The city is a traditional centre for buzkashi, and its shrine the focus of Afghanistans Nawroz celebrations. Places of interest The modern city of Mazari Sharif is centered around the Shrine of Hazrat Ali. Much restored, it is one of Afghanistans most glorious monument. Outside Mazar lies the ancient city of Balkh, that still contains much of interest to the visitor. Trivia The name Mazar E Sharif has also been applied to a potent strain of marijuana sold in North America, apparently because the strain of plants originated in Northern Afghanistan.

Let's Be Friends Afghanistan - War Museum, Herat
The War Museum in Herat was built in 2010 as a place for Afghans to understand past conflicts and their history. The museum seeks to inform visitors of the mujahideen’s plight and to educate Afghans. It is a memorial to the mujahideen heroes who fought the Soviets in the 70s and 80s as well as to the Afghans who lost their lives fighting.

This video was spontaneous and unplanned.
My Afghan friend, Noor, and I were road tripping from Mazari Sharif Eastbound when we found a hitchhiker on the side of the road. We picked him up, and he invited us into his village for tea.
This is a video about the amazing hospitality in Afghanistan. I am shocked by how warm and inviting these people are!
I documented the entire experience and originally wasn't planning to upload it as a separate story, but it is too good not to share with you.
Thank you so much for watching, and for all of your comments/reactions/questions on my Afghanistan content so far. If you ask me, this is as good as it gets.

Blue Mosque in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan
The Blue Mosque has been described as an oasis for peace, and it really does seem like it, considering the thousands of white doves surrounding the mosque. The doves flock on the trees, the roof, and the sidewalks. Legend has it the mosque is so sacred that any dove with a speck of color on its feathers will instantly become pure white after entering the mosque’s vicinity.
According to legend, a Middle Eastern mullah (scholar of Islam) had a dream that Ali bin Abi Talib, the son-in-law and cousin of the prophet Muhammad, had his bones resting in what is now northwestern Afghanistan. Captivated by his story, Ahmad Sanjar, who was the Sultan of the Seljuq Empire from 1118 to 1157, constructed the Shrine of Ali in northwestern Afghanistan. He even constructed a city around the shrine, called Mazar-i-Sharif, to which thousands of religious Muslims migrated.
Unfortunately, a century after the shrine was built, Genghis Khan made his westward push. When he reached Mazar-i-Sharif, Khan completely destroyed the shrine.
But it wasn’t gone for long. In 1481, Sultan Husayn Mizra rebuilt the Shrine of Ali in an even grander fashion, in the form of a giant blue mosque which still exists to this day.
When you look at it, the structure appears to be floating, a trick of Islamic architecture, which uses intricately painted clay tiles. The tiles constantly need to be replaced — two square feet every day — from exposure to the natural elements and because the corners of certain tiles are often stolen by pilgrims as religious mementos.
The Blue Mosque offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of Mazar-i-Sharif’s streets and bazaars. It is consistently quiet, except for when the muezzin makes one of the daily calls for prayer.

Hello Guys,
Kabul to Mazar-e-Sharif highway, one of the most crucial roads of Afghanistan. It was my third day of Afghanistan trip & our plan was to travel from Kabul to Mazar-e-Sharif. Some people say this road is very dangerous, but according to my experience, it really was safe.
The most amazing part of this road is the Hindu Kush mountain range when you see hills covered with snow & small streams of water running through mountains. Let's be honest, Hindu Kush Mountains are really amazing & they are more surprising than whole Afghanistan.
And now enjoy the video :)
